Great video here on Landon Jackson and how he uses excellent hands, pass rush moves, length, and explosiveness as an edge rusher. Also mentioned is that his production was hurt because Arkansas used a lot of 3 linemen sets on their defense.

This video was made pre-draft, so he mentions that he might not even go in the 1st round, but we know he didn't go until the 3rd round. Great pick by Buffalo!

He comes with the dreaded high motor tag, but I think he is a lot more than that. REALLY looking forward to seeing what he can do.

when you actually have size, power, pretty good speed and pretty good skill....the high motor is a positive

Between Sanders and Jackson, if we can get one of them at a pro bowl level it changes the trajectory of our franchise. It's just so required in this scheme.

I admit, he's the pick I'm most excited about in terms of upside.

I think he's going to make Epenesa trade bait at some point this summer.

Sanders being an immediately better pass rusher than Oliver

Jackson rotating in 40-50% of the snaps filling in for when Bosa or Rousseau come out & getting 8-10 sacks

Deone Walker being healthy, playing 30 snaps per game and DESTROYING the pocket

this is what's needed.

Javon Solomon has also shown he can get pressure.

Epenesa is a fairly good depth player, who seems to have a few games per year where he makes huge plays

He's one of the biggest hitters on QB's too.  I mean absolutely HAMMERS the QB when he does get sacks

That is one scary looking dude. Watching that video I did see some Crosby...but the way he plays with that intensity...kid of reminds me of a younger Joey Bosa too

The 3 down lineman wasnt something i realized when i looked pre draft, but after i heard post draft became a bit more excited.  Likely means he had to play run to pass as well as being inside of the tackle as a 4i.  Notably Deone Walker also found himself in some 3 down lineman sets (though he benefited some when he was outside more).

That usually means they lack athleticism for the position.  He has all the tools with a motor.  Seems like a solid pick.

I hope we aren’t expecting too much. Jackson has good potential but he won’t blow past too many people. His game is strength. I expect him to become a starter down the line but I’m reigning in my expectations for this year at least.

the NFL is a different beast.

still love the pick and he’s great value.

His tape does not look good to me. His movements look awkward and slow. Reminds me of watching high school tape, a lot of thinking and not doing. Plays very high too and seems to lack explosiveness. Watching him you dont see a "beast" that is dominating the guy across from him, whether physically dominant, faster, smarter etc.

If he winds up being Chris Kelsay/Ryan Denney, I'll be happy. That is, an edge setting, run stopping defensive end who can pitch in some pass rush in spurts and add value to the defensive line rotation.

And before anyone waves away my invocation of those two names: One played 10 years in the NFL, the other played 9. That's a good career.

Jackson's a third round pick, and usually edge rushers that fall to the third round -- great DL draft or not -- don't turn into premium pass rushers. Obviously, it's not a guarantee, and I'll be rooting for him to exceed expectations and ball out for Buffalo. But if he can work into the rotation, add some juice, and set the edge, I'll consider him a worthwhile 3rd round pick.

Lets hope so. Seems like a great pick. Hope he puts it all together quick. Have him on 1st and 2nd downs and being in Joey Bosa on 3rd downs fresh and hungry to attach the QB!

More like Carl Nassib than Maxx Crosby IMO. Crosby has elite lateral agility. Jackson didn’t do the shuttle or 3 cone, but he seems more on the stiff side. He definitely plays upright. If he has a problem in the NFL I think that’ll be why. Very nice size and length though. Seems to work hard. Good use of his hands too. I can see him becoming a solid starter or excellent #3 DE. Good value where we got him in the draft. I can see him being the reason we don’t bring back Epenesa in 2026.
