I'd be happy with him. Look at the Samuel injury that dogged him most of last season. If something like that happens again it'll be reassuring to know you have a similar guy ready to get an increased role

This isn't a surprise. I mentioned his name alongside Chark a number of times after the Draft ended.

If you value speed, in a WR that's under 30, that's had production in this league - Elijah Moore and DJ Chark are pretty much the only options out there.

Chark is older and had an injury riddled 2024. So them preferring Moore makes sense. Hopefully they learned from 2024 and will strike fast following the Draft instead of waiting and missing out on the top guys left (when they had to settle for MVS and Claypool).

BINGO  end thread!

Moore is available because he was one of the worst regular WR in the league last year.    He never developed past mediocre and then last year he was a bad thing waiting to happen when thrown the ball.    A 44 passer rating?   I didn't even know that was possible.   MVS was much more likely to hit and he was clearly washed.

But when Tyrell Shavers is your WR5 you can't do worse with anyone who got any volume of regular snaps at boundary WR last year.

Everyone continues to fall into this trap of thinking that WRs don’t put up numbers because of poor QB play, and that just isn’t the case.  People were convinced that Amari Cooper was going to light it up with Josh after leaving Cleveland.  It didn’t happen.  Meanwhile, Jerry Jeudy moved from Denver to Cleveland and had a career year.

If a WR doesn’t put up numbers, it’s because he’s not a very good WR.

That's not how that works lol scheme is actually the biggest success and failure for a lot of receivers. Jeudy had a career year because Dorsey's offense is typically designed around a single receiver, we saw it in Buffalo with Diggs.

Anyways, Moore is an undersized guy who if he was 3 or 4 inches taller, would jump off the page. Consistent hands, excellent route runner, 4.35 speed. Remember Isahiah McKenzie? That's most likely the role Moore would play in this offense.

Exactly. There's no way that I'd believe that Beane got on the horn and got on Moore in house that fast. This is what makes it even more odd that he crashed out on them. He was already doing what they were actually talking about. In essence he agreed with them that they need a little more help. Why not just say that ya know?  I don't believe Beane had placed much value in the WR class this year. That's cool.

Beane also mentioned on OBL that Moore's wife was with him on the visit.  When you bring your wife on a visit about a job, its usually to look for housing, etc.  I would say this has advanced to at least making a final decision between a couple of finalist options.....

Also, Moore was Palmer's teammate at Saint Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.  They didn't cross over with Joey Bosa - but he went to the same HS (an NFL feeder - Darryl Porter Jr and Sr and lots of others - including Michael Irvin).

Moore is better wr than any one available on day 3 and most of the guys on day 2 in this draft.  Wr class was weak why reach for one?  Guys who were late day 3 went early day 3.  Anias Smith and Keandre Lambert Smith to name a few.

And there’s the truth.  This team NEEDED to restock the D with young talent, they did it. Another PS WR wasn’t needed.  Now they are going to plug the gap with a cheap vet that has proven he can fill a role at the NFL level.  If you know anything about me, I’m not typically a Beane supporter, but I love the strategy this offseason.  I am not proclaiming to have a magic 8 ball on his individual choices and boy do I question Palmer, but the concept he executed is actually brilliant.

Assuming he has to take a 1 year prove it deal, this is the place to be. If the excuses for him not reaching full potential has been terrible QB play, let’s see what he can do with a real QB. It makes a ton of sense on both sides.

Everyone seems to write off shavers, Virgil and hamper as nothing. But those guys have been putting in the work on the team. Who's to say all of them will not contribute this year?

Me.

Moore's been a headcase at both New York, Cleveland, and even Ole Miss.  It is basically a Chase Claypoole roll of the dice except that Claypoole at least had one productive season in the pros.

Both organizations are DUMPSTER FIRES, so I'll just overlook whatever the antics were

give him a chance to play with Josh.   We need the speed and explosiveness off the line

it's possible he could earn WR3, certainly WR4 during camp

There's always a chance and the Bills don't have a lot of options but my guess is this will end the same way the Claypoole experiment did.

I hope it works out well for all involved. I remember a few years back when a lot of fans wanted him in the draft.

He’s been with 2 of the worst organizations in sports and has had the following QBs

- a terrible washed Deshaun

- Bailey zappe

- Jamies Winston (his best production was here)

- Zach Wilson

- corpse of Flacco

- Mike white

Young, fast, former  2nd rd pick - seems like a flyer worth taking. No one is claiming he’s a “truly elite WR”, but he might fill a need within Brady’s scheme

Except Moore just had 61 receptions last year on a horrific offense.

Claypool was brought in here and hadn't produced in a few seasons.

61 receptions on 102 targets (59.8% reception rate) and you can't argue the low catch percentage was because he was going deep since he only got 538 yards for 8.8 ypc.

Jeremy White ripped into beane?

The opposite surprisingly

White ripped Beane, Beane came back hard, White wimped out, then after the call White found his balls again.

How would low catch percentage tell you he wasn't going deep, because of the yards and ypc?  I'm sure there's advanced stata but I don't think that's the indicator.

Without looking anything up, couldn't low catch rate and low YPC, also be aligned with bad QB play?
