How do we even know? Lol. The play was blown dead on the incorrect team.  Should’ve been an easy sneak after an obvious Offside. 
 

and that second point is pretty dubious too imo.  Teams open the full playbook there very often and when it works they’re praised as geniuses.

There were two legit criticisms of McDermott today IMO. 

 

1. I think he should still go on 4th down when Bass misses the FG. If its bang, bang I understand a bit more kicking. But with the injury you had 2 or 3 minutes to come up with your best play there. Shoulda gone IMO.

 

2. I think on that last drive the failed pass on 2nd down he has to tie Joe Brady's hands more there and say "you can't throw it, three runs and FG is fine." An example of where "being aggressive" like everyone calls for was the wrong call IMO.

This is just crap.  Held them to 14 in the first half.  Second half they threw on us, yes.  We had lost guys in the middle of the field.  You think our offense succeeded in part because of all the guys they lost on D?  You should.

Ridiculous. Hollins returned the onside to set up a huge TD. Benford caused a fumble for a huge TO. Offensive line was great. Cook has a huge run. Receivers made some huge catches. Knox and Johnson both made some huge grabs. Allen would happily tell you this game was not all Allen.

I agree, neither of those were great calls. I put the 2nd one more on the Head Coach there. He has to say "no more passes." But overall his play calling and play design was excellent. Great mix of pasd to run and I can't remember a game basically all year where Josh threw so many balls to open guys.
