Bleeding Bills Blue Posted May 15 Share Posted May 15 Thought I'd throw a list together of who I believe will make final roster - not necessarily a depth chart 2 - QB - Allen, Trubisky 4 - RB - Cook, Davis, Johnson, Gilliam 6 - WR - Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, MVS, Hollins, Hamler 3 - TE - Kincaid, Knox, Morris 9 - OL - Dawkins, Edwards, McGovern, Torrence, Brown, VPG, Van Demark, Anderson, Collins 10 - DL - Rousseau, Jones, Oliver, Epenesa, Miller, Carter, Johnson, Smoot, Solomon, Williams 6 - LB - Milano, Bernard, Williams, Spector, Ulofoshio, Jones 6 - CB - Douglas, Benford, Elam, Johnson, Hardy, Lovely (I like his name :)) 4 - S - Bishop, Edwards, Rapp, Lewis 3 - Specialists - Bass, Martin, Ferguson KR/PR - My guess is Hardy or Shakir. Except for at a couple spots: WR: I'm torn on WR6. But I'm pretty positive it won't be Hamler. He's this year's Isabella. A guy from the 2nd who busted off his Drafted team and is now on his 3rd team in less than a year. Even if he performs well late in Pre-Season games with Trubisky/Buechele, that's not going to be enough that a team is going to put him on their 53, cold, to start the season (as it wasn't with Isabella). Knowing we can easily get him back on the Practice Squad if we cut him, makes him an easy cut. As for who WR6 will be, my guess is either Justin Shorter or Chase Claypool. Wild Card being Quintez Cephus. He produced well before only being cut for Gambling and probably had other options after reinstatement. All things equal, it would be Shorter, being a Draft investment and young Draftees who never got a shot are usually the ones who get a look from other teams. If he doesn't show anything, Claypool or Cephus. CB: I don't think Lovely makes it. I think we'll be bringing in a veteran FA CB when White's money comes in a couple weeks. Douglas replaced White and Hardy replaced Neal. But we did nothing to replace Dane Jackson. And we've moved on from a number of those already. They're going to want to keep some continuity there. Can't see Spector getting exposed to waivers so the Bills can keep TWO OLD BACKUPS instead. I'd argue Morrow and Jones are competing against each other for one vet spot. Otherwise, I align with your roster projection. *Love the whisper in this thread that SVPG is actually an elite long snapper prospect?!? Practice rules make it hard for him to do both long snapper and backup center. Same reason back up QBs don’t hold much now. LS, P, K just go to another field and rep it a million times. A plethora of jags at WR will be pared down significantly, at least 2 rookies will start immediately and a couple more will be rotational players. We may see 2 new kickers though.. No. There's a reason why LS is its own roster spot. Here's the thing. Let's say things stay where some think they will and McGovern is the starting C. SVGP is the likely backup. What happens if McGovern gets hurt? SVGP is now starting. You do not want your LS exposed to injury risk over the course of a game...so chances are they would need to sub him out on STs. It's not a position that just anyone can do... especially with the variance of snap distance between a punt and FG/EP. Throw into that on the FG team it has to be an expert snap each time into a small window with a kneeling down target. These things take reps, practice and skill.
