I believe the Bills will have to trade up in the 3rd to get an impact player:

28. Brian Thomas Jr. WR LSU

60. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M

78. Cole Bishop S Utah

Obviously, all these Mock Drafts are just for fun until after Free Agency........then we can really hone in on the positions the Bills will be targeting in the Draft.

Pearsall is a True Slot. So are you taking Shakir or Kincaid off the field to put him on? 3rd Slot isn't what I'm looking for in a Round 4 Double Dip. At most it would be a Tweener type that does a little of both. Not a guy who works exclusively there.

I'm beginning to think instead of adding 2 WR, We add that tall outside guy, ie Thomas, Franklin, Mitchell. Then grab a another good TE Stover, Sinnott. While also adding a RB, Corum. We're well equipped to use 12 and 13 personnel, which you can either run or pass from. When in 12, Shakir is in the slot, which you can still run from. By having 3 good TE's and 2 RB's along with the added X receiver, your offense is incredibly versatile. JMO.

Yep. An outside guy earlier and a versatile guy with inside / outside flex in the mid rounds IMO. That is the ideal outcome. Obviously you have to take the draft as it comes and not reach for guys, but in the ideal scenario that is the way I'd play receiver here.

This is why I'm out on Xavier Worthy too, just in the opposite way. He's an inside/outside flex guy. If he were to be available later in the mid rounds, i'd be fine with it. But we need to get a true Outside guy for WR2 early and he doesn't fit that bill to me. And he'll be long gone before we'll look to double dip in a more liberal type of WR.

I'd be out on Worthy round 1. But if we were to go another direction round 1 - edge is the only other spot I feel like is really in the mix - and the run on receivers were to continue early in round 2 and it were Worthy or none of the early round guys then in that scenario I'm open to him. But he is a #2 receiver in my view. Not someone who you take and start as a #2 with the hope he ends up developing into your #1 post Diggs. He is just a #2 who plays flanker and you move about the formation.

In a situation where we went DL in Round 1, I would hope that Beane would move up from 60 in Round 2 to make sure that he got at least one of the last true Outside guys of value.

But in a scenario where we did go DL, then weren't able to move up in Round 2, and he was the last WR left of good value - i'd take him then. But that's about the only scenario.

I just don't see Beane taking a guy that small (as Steve Smith put it, "he's 170 lbs leaving the Thanksgiving table") who played only 60% of his snaps Outside last season at WR2. Fast as hell and explosive. But Beane is a "check the boxes" guy, who values the prototypical, athletic, physical specimens with his early picks. And I don't see Worthy checking enough boxes.

He is but he has been a "must get an X" guy at times too. Had to have an edge in 2021, had to have a corner in 2022, had to have a pass catcher in 2023. I know he got all those in round 1... but I think he knows he has to get out of the first two rounds with a receiver and they have talked a lot about explosiveness. I don't see a single scenario where Worthy is in contention at #28. But in a scenario where they go elsewhere at #28 I could see a scenario where he is in play in round 2. Again, not my ideal scenario. I suspect not theirs either. But a possibility all the same.

Question, though, for ye fellow WR train conductors: when Byron Murphy falls to 28 and Brian Thomas Jr is gone already, do you just take Murphy because BPA at a position of need, or do you slide down to the next WRs on your board, whether that's Mitchell or Franklin or whomever?

I think Murphy will be gone in reality but good question. I love the two defensive tackles at the top of this class - Newton and Murphy. They are my kind of defensive tackle, quick penetrators, aggressive and good with their hands. But I think both have to play 3T and Ed Oliver was the best player not name Josh Allen on our team in 2023. I don't know that with our roster as it is we can afford to spend our 1st round pick on the position manned by our best non-Quarterback of the past season. So if that situation arises I think the play is trade back, collect picks... but don't go beyond say #40 unless you are getting significant ammo to come back up with.

First one of the day. Things didn’t go as I wanted to. Traded back with Cinci first for 49, 80, and next years 2nd. Was hoping to get one of Franklin, Mitchell there but both were taken. Even Polk, Worthy and McConkey were gone. So I Got Sweat who I love. Since none of the WRs were there at 60 that I wanted I traded back a little more with 2 more teams. Going from 60 to 63, and then 65. Picking up more ammo late in the draft. Legette was there then. Even though I’m not in love with him, so I wanted to double up with another physical freak in Walker but Philly gave me 97, 160, and 179 for 80. I was hoping Walker would be there. He wasn’t. Then Rice and Burton also got snagged before me. Overall though I’m not hating how it turned out but I’m not overly confident with any of the WRs. Hopefully 1 of the 3 really works out. the draft was really about doubling up or more on positions of need in hopes that you get some battles going on and someone rising to the top come camp.

First time this happened, I had a choice between WR Thomas and C Powers-Johnson.  I was torn.  I know the sexy pick is WR, but I opted to take the anchor up front for the rest of Josh's career.

for whatever reason he fell and fell. I had to give up next years 1st but was able to squeeze a 3rd next year out of Jax. I tried to move up again in rd2 for Sweat but couldn’t swing a deal and he was gone. So I traded back with Hou for 86 and next years 2nd. Was hoping to pick up McKinley Jackson there but he was gone. So now the issue that no one really spoke to me here. Thought about Cole Bishop, S. But instead took another trade back for more picks. The Eagles gave me 97 and 160. I really thought Bishop would still be there but wasn’t. Then Miami offered me 157 and a 3rd next year. If I wasn’t going to be picking at 100 I wouldn’t have done it. Ended up getting Hicks there. So I feel really good about both WR and S, but just in case I doubled up at S with Smith later. I think Jefferson can be that 1tech that we need but also doubled up with Hall who’s more of a 3 but we need bodies regardless. Also picked up a few rotational DEs, a backup LB, and a weapon in Jordan. This draft is all about Nabors. The rest almost doesn’t matter. And even though I gave up some picks next year I was able to pick up extra 2nds and 3rds next year so we will be looking really strong for years to come.

🔥ALL OFFENSE.  FIREPOWER.  Really loved this one.  Offense MUCH faster and MUCH more explosive

BTJ lined up at X.  Worthy lined up anywhere + motion. Allows flexibility to move Diggs into slot more

Jaylen Wright is my newest crush.  5'11 210  elite explosive speed and can break through tackles.  Has clocked in at 23.6 mph.

Maybe Brenden Rice ends up being half the player his father was.

LETS ROLL!!!!

I like this one.  Thomas in Rd. 1.  Persall in Rd. 3.  Don't really know anything about Taylor, but he is a highly rated DT, so I took him in Rd. 2.  Anyone have insight?

I like the Harper/Smith, Taylor safety trio (perhaps 1 too many Ss drafted).

I think this draft does a lot to help the WR, DT, and S issues, and provides depth at OL and LB.

I think this is not a draft to get a DE. There are very few worth taking early, and those fellas won't reach #28. So, WR is where the focus should be early, and then again in the mid-rounds, at least one more. I'd rather load up at WR, DT, and S. Traded back here, because the top tier at WR was picked clean. I really like how it played out, which means it's utterly unrealistic.
