I don’t know man. Every year there’s talent projected in the first or second round even after the combine that drops drastically for whatever reason. Whilst I agree that it is very unlikely I can see it happening for every picks other than JPJ and Brenden Rice. But I think your point makes sense. I don’t think the Bills are going to draft a big, tall, physical, contested jump ball kind of guy. Specifically because they recently drafted Shorter and think they have something in him. Right or wrong I believe that’s the case. Which leads me to believe even a guy like Thomas may be out of the question unless he’s somehow still there after rd1 and they somehow didn’t address WR yet. I think a guy like Franklin is more on the target. Someone that still runs some clean routes, has some speed, and can still do some of those things, but it’s not what they’re known for. But I haven’t seen enough of Wilson to know that is or isn’t how he plays. He may be the crispest route runner in the world and I wouldn’t know. If it falls that way I could see Sweat at 28 or even a trade down into the 30s, hopefully picking up an extra 2nd rd pick or something similar. Take Sweat. Then take Worthy in the 2nd rd. Toyo321 Posted February 12 Share Posted February 12 (edited) Tonight just reaffirms that the only way we are going to get by KC is with a complete new batch at the WR position, this includes WR #1 #2 & #3 Diggs will need to get the lead out of his sorry ass and start playing like a #1 WR next year. We need much better CB's than this team currently has on on its roster. Our CB's are a not even on the same level as KC's and KC completly shut down SF tonight with the play of their two top CB's Sneed and McDuffie. Our D-Line every year fails to get to the quarterback when it matters in big games. SF had Mahomes running for his life in this game and almost pulled out the Win. Same goes for KC, they know when to bring it with their blitzing packages and we still in 7 seasons have yet to get a HC or DC figure this out for us. Onto to the draft. Fingers are crossed. Not sure fans would be reassured. But it's probably better than forcing picks based primarily on need, long-term. Not sure how I feel about Murphy because I haven’t looked at him much. All mocks have guys ranked differently. And guys in the draft fall or go much earlier than expected every single year. It’s like when Belicheck took that OL in the first rd and everyone in the planet laughed at it. But the fact is it happens every single year multiple times. Nobody on the planet besides the Bills thought Bernard or Williams were 3rd round picks either but it happened. Nobody knows for sure. I like the idea of this, not so sure about the players themselves. No doubt we are lacking top end taken at WR, but if the value isn’t there at the back of RD1, go get that DL depth restored. We cannot solve every need in this draft alone, so getting the best value picks to continue and build a winning team around our elite quarterback should be the goal. We saw it last night with Mahomes in the big game. Did they win because Mecole Hartman and MVS are elite talents? They won because of Mahomes and his insane ability, aided by an extremely strong defense that’s elite on the back end and deep on the DL. Some of the guys who will be available later probably would have cost a full Round higher in another year. All the more reason to wait until our 4th pick for a double dip. Anyone who is considered a Slot WR at the Pro Level though - I'm not interested in, outside of a late round flyer. In Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, we already have two guys who work out of the slot that I want on the field as much as possible. Last season, all we had was slot WR's as depth. To the point where when Davis went down, we had no choice but to put Sherfield, Harty, or Shakir out wide. Stick to Tall, Fast, and Strong guys.
