Trump Urging Republicans To Reject Border Security Deal-Keep the invasion going! 300,000 last month!

He telling them to oppose a bill that help secure the border.

He doesn't care about the border. He just wants something to scare MAGA voters with. A solution is the last thing he wants

But you want open borders right? Any time trump proposed border solutions you called him a nazi during his term. Now you’re surprised he says don’t compromise? Lol

Tibs is twisting his words like a pretzel. He was against the wall before he was for it? Or for the before he was against it?

I don’t think he even knows what the hell he’s talking about!

Lots of border measures that the regime will simply ignore, like all of the other ones.

Homeland Security has the mandate to secure the border, they don't do it because the Sec is a traitor and the current orders are to stand down.

Simple as.

So we’re going to ignore the fact that Biden has reached across the aisle and offered a compromise

Got it

Not a "compromise".

A bill that does little to nothing to address the problem,

and spends money that we don't have.

Enforce the immigration laws on the books !

There is absolutely NO reason enforcing the immigration laws that are already on the books needs a compromise, much less to be tied to aid for Ukraine.

I get so tired of hearing this spending money that we don’t have Republican spending whenever they are in charge goes up, not down on the ledgers of this country. Look it up.

Thats kind of their MO.

it's a sad state of affairs when the FED can't even do its core role of protecting the borders.

All the Supreme court ruling stated is that it's the FEDS job, not the States.  and the left thinks that's a win. if anything, it just shows the feds are either incompetent or support illegal immigration.  And if they support the open borders, they should be held negligent for any and all crime/violence that's a result of it.

Will Texas resist the feds?

It was all the rage when the orange dude was in office.

You have no idea what's in the bill. Neither do I. But Senate Dems and Repubs are now behind it, so yes, it is a compromise.

Here's a summary of what we know about the Senate compromise. Note the comment from Sen Lankford (R-OK), not exactly a bleeding heart:

The proposal crafted by the Senate would toughen the asylum process with a goal of cutting the number of migrants who come to the southern border to make an asylum claim.

Negotiators have worked on some policies intended to aid immigrants. The plan could include a pathway to citizenship for Afghans who came during the U.S. withdrawal from their country, along with work permits for migrants who enter the asylum system, according to two people familiar with the talks who were granted anonymity to discuss the private negotiations.

But the package will mostly leave out broad immigration changes, like protections for immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally as children, that have been foundational in previous Senate bills.

"It will be by far the most conservative border security bill in four decades," said Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford, the lead GOP negotiator.

Yes, "compromising" America's security is what the left has been doing...

True. So let's take some time to read it, propose amendments, etc.

But Trump is urging House Republicans to vote "no" unless it is an immigration restrictionist's wet dream. And in divided government, you'll never get that. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Nope.

You just thought  felt that this was an opportunity to attack.

Well, as usual, you were wrong.

Does anyone actually believe it’s the Democrats who want border security? Their actions of fighting Republican proposals AND tying the border to aid in Ukraine speaks contrary to a “fix the border” message. Couldn’t they simply decide to have a separate border deal and put some hard line proposals out there? Republicans would pass it immediately and then the problem is solved.

Democrats could even take the credit and that would be a great political move considering how highly immigration ranks on voters minds. They could take the spear right out of the republican party’s hands.
