No….scotus did not rule as to whether Texas could or couldn’t defend itself…

But the constitution clearly states that when the federal govt does not do its job, states have the right to defend themselves from invasion….👍

The real joke here is the people who called the insurrection a mostly peaceful protest are now the ones calling illegal immigration an invasion.  You can't make this stuff up.  Fox is a HELLA drug.  May as well burn the dictionary, too.

It is an invasion- run by the cartels, and aided by the administration 👍

No, by laying out the red carpet by calling them asylum seekers when he knew they would not be let in by calling them economic migrants- which is what they are 👍

You throw around that word like how liberals throw around racism. Yes everybody's a racist insurrectionist apparently. It loses it's meaning after a while

nah, it's meaning is well represented in this thread alone.

a violent uprising against an authority or government.

"the insurrection was savagely put down"

and you know this how?  and about which particular immigrants?

He used it as a blanket statement for all migrants, because legally they then had to be let in…he lied to get them all in here- receiving free healthcare, education and housing at tax payer expense…8 million and counting under his watch….

Biden = America Last

The only reason anyone calls J6 a "mostly peaceful protest" is to clown those who used that phrase to describe the far more destructive riots during the Summer of 2020.  And ask the "sanctuary cities" who are now crying because they can't support all the illegals being sent there whether it's an invasion.

This country was founded by "insurrectionists." When a govt becomes too powerful history shows that you sometimes need to knock them down a notch. You are acting like the sissy guy in the Hamilton play saying noooo guys behave!

Pray that we don't get to the point that real insurrection takes place. There are a lot of frustrated and angry people that are tired of getting crapped on with this nonsense.

Oh, the drug "war".  That must be the war that the writers meant in Article 1 of the Constitution.

Words have meaning, and they matter.  You also can't parse parts of the same clause, "or engage in War, unless actually invaded".  I love how they even used the word, "actually".  It's almost like they saw the Constitution thrashing GQP coming hundreds of years in advance,

Ok, since it’s obvious that the GOP doesn’t want to solve the border crisis and they admit that they won’t do it for political reasons, yet so many here seem to believe both that the Dems want the border crisis and that the issue hurts them:

What is the alleged Dem theory of the case here? Get more immigrants in so that people like Dems less?

GOP is not needed for feds to simply enforce the law…Trump had no problem enforcing the border…👍

yes, that's what they think.  Also some like rice crispy think all immigrants have been granted asylum status.  It's tough to argue with people who think the world is flat....

Are those same people "clowning" us with, "hostages" now?  It's not an invasion by the writing/meaning of the Constitution.  They make it clear that the clause is about an actual war.  In fact they literally said, "engage in war" right before invasion.

More Dem voters.  What is your theory?  More people to do menial jobs?

I can't speak to whom the "hostages" refer.  As I've been saying, J6 was an embarrassment and never should have happened and certain people deserved to be charged, but it wasn't an "insurrection," planned or otherwise and people who did nothing other than enter into open doors at the Capitol shouldn't be punished.

Yeah we saw your best and brightest during insurrection 1.0.  Led by a 1 eyed man who, of course, shot his own eye out.

“Let’s do something that makes us very unpopular because a generation or two from now, we could have some more voters”

-The brilliant Dem immigration plan, apparently

I think that the border crisis cannot be solved except for by Congress. Simply militarizing the border will be insufficient because not only would it require an insane amount of resources, many immigrants cross into the US legally and then overstay their welcome. So even if the border was super secure with a bit scary fence and people shooting anyone who gets close to it, you’re still going to have a sizable problem.

You need a comprehensive solution that actually gets to the root causes of the issues in addition to more security. But the Dems can’t do that without the GOP who repeatedly admit that they don’t want to solve it.

You can do patchwork attempts to mitigate but without Congress taking action, you’re not going to be able to handle the numbers we are currently seeing.

You're glossing over the whole fake elector coup d'etat part, but anyways back to the topic.  Is the southern border the "invasion" the writers of the Constitution intended?  If so, then Texas is in imminent danger of "war", right?

You gotta love when the Fox/GQP narrative doesn't even make any sense, but that doesn't stop them from parroting it anyhow.  The whole things is a giant complex mess, that both sides are using as politics. It's disgusting, because it's human beings, that are their pawns.  Ted Cruz is literally grandstanding on raped children, but I think both sides know he's a putrid person.  What good are new laws going to do if they aren't enforced or funded properly?  This is really just a big American political joke.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

And would you say that securing the border would cost more than, say, $150B annually?
