There is absolutely no way you can look at the two stadiums and say with a straight face that there is not a large difference.

 

One looks like it was built in 2010 and the other looks like it was built in 2025.

 

 

 

Then there is the Browns new stadium - which is the ugliest stadium I think i’ve ever seen. But it does at least look like it is being built this decade. 

 

Boy is it hideous though.

Whether it's in WNY or Florida, you CHOOSE what you want to spend the money on. You also choose WHEN to spend the money, and they waited so long that they're paying more than Jerry World for significantly less.

Between the two of us I can guarantee I have more experience in these things than you. Sure there are a lot of choices and decisions made in any design but from what I’ve seen of the new Highmark it doesn’t look like much has been wasted on what most would consider extravagant bells or whistles. I’m therefore of the opinion that the construction team has been able to provide what the WNY construction marketplace dictates in the cost of labor and materials.

Now if only that marketplace was commensurate with ticket prices for the average middle class family in the western ny area. Its going to be interesting to see what ticket prices are in 10 years.

Can’t disagree with you there. I’m pretty sure the target market is NOT an ‘average middle class family’.

and ohhhhh by the way ................even Miami outdid Bills new stadium, as they have "ALL" the seats covered for rain(direct above, but yes some can blow in) and most covered with sun shading too. Imagine that. lol

well....TN Titans looks more set back and bigger like old Highmark so yeah 2010 look. New Highmark Bills looks more stacked close in and vertical so more 2025 look. Big difference is TN roof makes it look newer and much more modern as all new builds have a roof now. So you have that right i guess.   And yeah I would ask for a complete redo on Cleveland proposal.

It is very very minimalist / brutalist not to mention: 

Utilitarian: Designed for usefulness rather than beauty.

Unadorned: Lacking decoration or ornamentation.

Plain: Simple and lacking detail.

Grey, gloomy, glum, washed-out: Describing a dull or unpleasant color palette.

Slapped-together: Appearing hastily or poorly constructed.

Uninviting: Lacking warmth or appeal.

Imposing: Large and overwhelming.

Unwashed, weathered, armored

You have the strangest (and most persistent) axe to grind with the Bills over this stadium.  It’s so odd.

 

New Highmark is at the leading edge of technology and design for a roofless facility, and it looks very modern and cool.

I think my rep told me that that area is actually public and can enter on GameDay. There are two security checkpoints. One to get into that parkway area which is public and then the ticket gate.

 

Early security could be a disaster.

Is it the grass field with grow lights that Green Bay and others have been using for decades?

 

Is it the fact that we are installing the same  radiant heating technology that is in the current stadium and was installed over a decade ago?
 

Is it the canopy that is a lesser copy of Tottenham’s almost decade old design?
 

Is it the snow melt system that was copied from the Vikings who built theirs a decade ago? (ours will be bigger/more advanced though)

 

From what I have seen and read, we are installing features that have been in other stadiums for decades and calling it ‘leading edge’ because it’s new to us. If we have genuine innovation in this stadium then that is awesome, but everything I have seen is a copy of old-ish technology that is borrowed from other stadiums who have had it for a while.

Personally, I think it looks old and boring. Someone else mentioned that it looks old because it’s based on Tottenham - which was designed almost a decade ago. So it’s already based on an older design. I thought that was a good point.

So they had to overpay for resources. They never should have agreed to using all that local spending.

As for your other "points" I simply respond that there are only so many things one can do with a stadium, and for an outdoor facility the Bills are taking advantage of all of them.  Do you really believe the technology has not improved with respect to the grass field and roof heating?  How about the installation of dedicated cell networks and a completely separate technology building to bring state-of-the-art connectivity for fans and allow for future expansion?

 

The glass and perforated metal look that will surround the stadium aren't a new design?

 

Again, I don't understand the basis for your repetitive and crusade-like negative posting on the new building.
