Beck Water
9 minutes ago, dave mcbride said: The way I look at points given up is as follows: if a defense forces a turnover in the opponent's end and is automatically in FG range, holding them to a FG is giving up 0 points. The FG is basically automatic and the defense had nothing to do with the team being in FG position. If they give up a 2 point conversion, that's on the D (Miami had one of those). I did not assign the 3 given up by the Bills on the drive where Miami started from the Bills 48 after the pick. That's a judgment call, but they only gave up 18 yards on 7 plays (yes, I realize they gave up a fourth, but Miami is never going for it on fourth and 8 unless they're gifted a possession in the Bills end--another contextual factor). They had one legit TD drive, a TD after a TO in FG range plus a 2 pt conversion (5 points), and a legit FG drive (although they were gifted a possession at the 40 because of a terrible kickoff). OK, fair enough. I would say if the points resulted from a turnover giving the opponent favorable field position in Bills territory, it's fair to put that on the O, but fair to disagree. I would still argue that our D did not play well in that game - certainly not "giving up 31 points" badly, but not well - but honestly, I lack the stomach to go blow by blow through it. Thrivefourfive
I thought the big media question was: Why hasn’t Frazier gotten a head coaching job yet?! Their heads are going to explode when they see this.. Oh yeah, they’ll mention it for a couple seconds (because it’s Josh Allen related) and move on. Sean McDermott is basically Aaron Boone the New York Yankees manager talented contender roster not capable of winning the big one. Would I rather have Sean McDermott and Aaron Boone coaching my teams or Lou Saban and Billy Martin? Both Lou and Billy had there issues wearing out their welcome with owners but they could coach. I am old school give me Lou Saban and Billy Martin winners that get the very best out of the teams they coached. Both Lou Saban and Billy Martin worked for George Steinbrenner he knew how to conduct team business as a sports team owner his son Hal Steinbrenner is lacking and so is Terry Pegula bum greedy bums not all that interested in winning like George Steinbrenner was. Yes because of Lou Saban and Billy Martin’s issues they wear out there welcome but they could coach and you could sleep at night as a fan knowing there teams were well prepared. Sean McDermott and Aaron Boone are corporate politically correct yes coaches that suck as head coaches we aren’t winning anything with these two bums let’s stop being political correct and tell it like it is like Howard Cosell. Let’s tell the truth Sean McDermott and Aaron Boone aren’t capable of being great as coaches there corporate yes coaches I would fire both of them. BSF you shouldn’t talk like that as a fan? Why not it’s the truth what have the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees won in the last 10 years? Exactly fire both of them both not good enough wasting the talent we have on these two contending teams in my opinion. Go Bills! Go Yankees! I hear you, but 3.3 yards per play, a passer rating of 41.8, and rushing ypc of 2.1 is very good even factoring in who was playing QB. Allen made some great plays in that game, but he was REALLY sloppy with the ball after they took a big lead and it almost came back to bite them. Plus a couple of bad special teams plays too. Now we get this bizarre story of Frazier "taking a year off" with no explanation given. The thing is, these days, "an awful lot of smoke" can result from one guy with inaccurate sources reporting wrong info, and then everyone else regurgitating what that guy said with no verification. Welcome to information challenge in the Age of Social Media, though back in 1710 Jonathan Swift said "Falsehood flies, and Truth comes limping after it". Not saying your take is wrong, either, just pointing out that in this day and age, one can't judge factuality by the amount of airplay and electrons something receives.

I didn't mean to imply that the Bills D was all suckitude or something, but there was a pattern of giving up 4th down and big 3rd down conversions that they struggled with last season - the Dolphins game wasn't an anomoly there, and I think it was a real and repetitive problem.
ArtVandalay
Good! This officially puts McDermott on the hot seat, it's his defense and they are making him change DC, he's officially been given a warning. Kim will need to eventually step in because Beane won't fire McD. 1 1 1
