Roosevelt played at St. Joe's, won UBs only conference title in 2008, and became a Bill. But most of his career was in the CFL. Congratulations on entering the coaching world.

Good for him. He's a great guy always looking to give back. Hope he becomes an NFL HC some day.

This game was crazy...Bills had 2 long plays early on. Fred Jackson scored on an 80 yard run before this play...close game, Fitz sealed the L with a 4th quarter INT with 4.5 minutes left in the 4th with the Bills in easy FG range(under 40 yards) and the Giants went down to kick a FG to win the game...as always, Fitz in the 2 minute drill late in the game, Bills went nowhere gaining 5 yards and 4th down pass was batted down...but at least it wasn't the normal Fitz 2 minute special of throwing an INT on the first play to seal the L.

Man, Gailey really knew how to design some creative plays. Wonder how he would have done with a talent like Allen at his disposal.

It was a 5 yard curl route that he took to the house. Really bad look for the Giants defense, honestly.

what was the most creative part of that play?

Was speaking generally. Not this play specifically. But he was good at creating mismatches. Small things like lining up a receiver in the backfield like he did with Nelson here, for example. He did that with Stevie Johnson often.

The part where the receiver is open.

It's a checkdown.

Different game back then.  Totally different QB now than Gailey had ever seen.  The game doesn't need him anymore.

Roosevelt was part of the greatest triplet in UB football history, along with QB Drew Willy and RB James Starks. His most famous catch is the last one in this video, the Hail Mary reception that beat Temple that year.

I was at this game...it was a blast...but somehow, in typical Bills style of that time (the "close but no cigar" era of the drought) I was falbbergasted to walk out of the stadium with the Bills losing on a late field goal.
