Do the Kansas City Chiefs deserve a bye week ?

There was likely a 50/50 chance of them getting it with Buffalo losing to the Bengals. But it sucks something awful that they the Bills and Bengals were not given the chance to finish the game. That was the only true fair solution. But it would have cost the NFL too much to push the games around. It is sad!

And F no they don't deserve it. Although they did their part by winning their last 2 games. But to get it basically by default sucks balls.

The fair solution was no bye week in the AFC.

Not only do they not deserve the bye but they should have had to face both us and Cinci, which they would have as the #2 seed. I would give them a 0% chance of beating both of us. There's a good chance that the best team in the AFC will not be in the Super Bowl as a result

I hope the Chargers beat the Jaguars. Even though KC usually wins the Chargers always seem to give them a good game. They would have a good shot at an upset.

The way I process this whole thing for the Bills is that in the sales/professional world is our employer gave us time to handle a personal matter. But we aren’t getting paid for days we didn’t show up. We hit our KPI’s, we are getting our base bonus. But the days missed cost us our escalators. We’re still firmly in the running for Presidents Club.

It’s unfortunate. But it is what it is.

KC showed up to work and hit their escalators.

I will take it to my grave, the Chiefs should be playing this weekend same as the Bills.

The Chiefs won the #1 seed while Buffalo had no chance

Free bye week on a technicality

Rewind to a few days back just post-Hamlin injury. We collectively did not care what happens in the playoffs including the seeding. Remember that and realize that the way the chips fell were not "fair" most importantly to Hamlin with him getting injured in the first place.

I am at peace with not having the bye week and knowing that we won't be in an opponent's stadium for the AFCCG.

Given what happened with Hamlin, a decision had to be made not knowing the actual outcome of that game.  If Cinci won, they would be the two and the Bills the three.  If the Bills had won, they would be the one, its unknowable.   There was no solution that would make everyone think it is "fair" and we all have to live with that.  KC has a better winning percentage, without doing some crazy stuff, not sure what else the league could have done.  At lease the Bills will not have to play at an opponents stadium...neutral field is the worst that can happen for the Bills.

The #1 seed is not determined by win percentage

How is it determined, ask House?

Best record then head to head match up which Buffalo won.

They got it. So yep.

shouldn’t have lost to the Jets and Fins or Minny.

The Jets and Fins games were close games that went back and forth. They lost sometimes that happens. The Vikings game is the game the Bills should have won. Up 27-10 with a minute left in the 3rd quarter and at home. That game was won and they ****ed up.
