In looking at the top causes of death for men in the 45-54 age group, the top 4 or 5 causes deal with heart or lung issues. The total death count exceeds 30,000, and when you consider he was traveling, working, doing what he thought was right with respect to human rights issues, it seems reasonable that he might be at higher risk than he might otherwise be. When you factor in death threats and reporting on what he was seeing, I would think he was under inordinate stress.
