She knows she is sinking her political career in this current version of the Republican Party. She is a true conservative who values truth above party.
 

Someday Trump will be gone. Maybe trumpism will fade. Maybe then, she will be recognized by the party as a patriot and someone who sacrificed their political future for the good of the country. Historians know she is one of the few republicans who stood for truth and for American democracy. Trump and his supporters… not so much. But they probably don’t care.

Good point…..I’m sure that’s pretty much what she’s thinking. Only history will tell. Unfortunately for me Liz represents the wrong arc of the Republican Party at this particular moment. She is if the Bush branch of the tree, beholden to the establishment. The Trump supporters represent the future…and it is NOT about Trump.  It’s a populist movement that looks out for the working men and women of the country. Trump will be long gone, and a new voice will take up the cause.

Rest assured, Liz Chaney is going to land on her feet somewhere.  The fact the establishment summoned her for the task of participating on the Committee in an apparent act of political suicide shows how serious they are to discredit and eliminate Trump from the political scene.  Populist movements that reject the core agenda of both parties, whether initiated from the left or from the right are dangerous to the establishment agenda.  Many like me whether Democrats or Republicans, see the agenda of neither major political party representing their interests.  This is something more and more citizens are concluding in greater numbers.  Social and economic conditions are accelerating this trend.

 

The Washington establishment's concern is the movement gains traction, picks off candidates and current office holders representing embedded special interests and replaces them with populist office holders at all levels.  Representatives that believe they are sent to serve and represent "the people".  Once that happens and a majority is achieved current leadership is out on the street.  And the agenda will swing in another direction.  This is most likely going to happen as social and economic forces are hurtling us in the direction of a major crisis but by neutralizing Trump they buy some time.

Liz Cheney is not going to be president and she certainly is not a democrat. She’s doing what she believes is correct. There was an attempt to overthrow the results of an election and, unlike most members of her party, she thinks that’s a bad thing. 
 

However, she’s a Cheney, so however this ends up, she’ll be fine. 
 

The person we should be talking about is Adam Kinzinger. That guy has probably ended his career for this.

I can’t stand her pops, but I think she’s playing the McCain game and if she can buy her way through the primary, wins a National election in a landslide.

Cheney will be incredibly popular with the Dems until she’s no longer necessary, at which point a story will break that she had farm-style relations with some old guy who’s kids she babysat when she was 15.  
 

Then again maybe she can be part of the über-unifying Liz/Hunter ticket with Chelsea Clinton as Sec State, Jenna Bush as press secretary with Sasha and Malika as jr Senators from Massachusetts.

Big oil won't bankroll her campaign because she's toxic and will only play to the never-Trumpers.  She's also a one-and-done term Senator who won't be in Congress for almost 2 years when the general election rolls around.  Why choose her over, say, DeSantis, who also wants big oil?

 

And there's no way DeSantis would choose her as VP.  While the other way around won't happen for the reasons mentioned above.

I really could care less a bunch of idiots had a stupid riot egged on by a stupid guy and got arrested for strolling through the capital. They didn’t even burn anything!!???
 

This “investigation” produced by a news executive is a sham. Nothing will come of it. What are they going to impeach donnie again??? This is all political theatre so they can hopefully run against the ghost of bad man past, since they can’t run on results.

I'd be more inclined to agree with this if there weren't so many people in/running for office that continue to parrot lies about the election, that is seriously dangerous.

So are you saying a case where the election was really close and they ended up going through legal proceedings because it was so close, and the candidate that came out on the losing side of those proceedings concedes is the same as a case where it wasn't all that close there was a clear victor that also won the legal procedures that followed and the losing candidate not only doesn't concede but claims victory and continues to claim victory today?

Just about every Every presidential   election outcome has been undermined since by the loser in one way or other. It’s been a slippery slope for sure.

So, upon reviewing those elections the closest I could find was this one in 2016 where one of the candidates claimed that if they lost the election was rigged, but then they won, and their opponent still conceded.
