Chiefs have a TON of UFA's heading into next year and only 21m in cap space...they could have some issues

The cap is just an excuse not to spend money or go all in.  KC goes all in.  They’ll figure out way to make it work cap-wise.

Of course they will!  The cap is going up a ton and they will tweak things to keep the handful of essential guys in the core and keep the machine rolling along.

Lots of starters on their roster are UFA's, especially on D. That extra 3rd round pick could come in handy for them.

You sound like the fans who were writing them off after we beat them in Oct,  they will be fine and that is plenty of money when they restructure other contracts .  Let's worry about how the Bills are going to get better.  Like maybe upgrade the DC coaching spot

I know people make jokes that where there's a will, there's a way, but eventually the bill does come due.

Saints are the most recent example.  They went all in for Brees, and now the franchise is in shambles.

Ask Sean Payton how that's worked out for him in New Orleans

It’s all about drafting well.  The Chiefs drafted 4 starters in 2020 (RB, LB, RT, and #1 CB) and 3 so far from 2021 (LB, C, G) without a first round pick.  They’ve got a lot of expensive players, but they’re offset by young players on rookie contracts.

Rosters get expensive when high draft picks don’t get a lot of snaps.  Veach/Reid have done a good on getting day 1 starters despite not having a top 30 pick since Mahomes.

Meh. They need to re-sign Orlando Brown, and they will. Other than that, guys are replaceable. This past offseason they replaced all 5 offensive linemen and some defensive players and they were fine. The just beat us without Honey Badger.

Honey Badger was pretty critical to their success during the season. They will probably find a way to get him back.

yea no.... does Mahomes, Kelce or Hill play defense?

Can any of them play Tackle?

This is KC end of their magic window... it gets harder for them from here on.. out

Why is that?  The salary cap keeps going up, and the team keeps replacing expensive veterans with cheap rookies which frees up money to pay for the stars.  This season alone, there are 3 rookies who were opening day starters.  It’s pretty easy to pay a veteran LT when the rest of the line is making peanuts.

Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill are bargains.  Paying big contracts only hurts when they under perform.  Guys like Anthony Hitchens and Frank Clark have been problematic, but they will both be gone after this season.

Put it this way.  Hill, Kelce, and Bolton will have a combined hit of $31,000,000 next season at WR, TE, and MLB.  Diggs and Edmunds will cost $32,000,000 at the same spots.

We beat the chiefs in week 4 without Milano.  Doesn’t mean we don’t need him does it?

Were they fine earlier in the year when their defense was historically bad?

I don’t know if you’ve recorded the games and are still trying to get caught up so I’ll try not to give too much away, but you might not want to write off their season just yet.

you cant do this every year man... it catches up to you after a while. Who knows how much we pay Edmunds or if we move on from him? to many assumptions going on here.... Didnt anyone teach you what happens when we assume things?
