Amazing.  You have absolutely no rebuttal of my post so you resort to the usual dribble.  The deal was the deal Zelensky found acceptable to his country.  Your characterization of it is irrelevant.  The terms are none of your business, or mine, or our governments.  But not so fast.  I recall you saying sovereign countries can do what they want but apparently what they can't do based on Johnson's visit is negotiate a peace deal they find acceptable without the approval of Washington.  You idiots need to wake up.

If true, there's little more to argue.

You present this side of the story as if it's established fact when it is anything but.  Biased much?

because stating that she was a schoolmate is exactly the same thing as lying about your station in life for 10 years...what do you really do other than spreading propaganda on a football message board?

Are you admitting that you lied about “going to school” with her?

nope.  asked and answered....

It's amazing that the propagandists here flood the board with nonsense posts every time they're challenged on "facts".  Almost like there's a script to follow for posting propaganda...like obfuscation and deflection are tactics.....

Tell us how your time at school intersected with that of Susan Collins, the lady that graduated when you were 14 years old. Diagram your argument.

"intersected"...big word for a troll and one that I never used.  Go watch Marco Rubio lie for trump on CNN about NATO.  You may learn some new disinformation tactics.

First, I am sorry, for those around you, that you are in the midst of another manic episode. The Chiefs in the Super Bowl again will do that to a person. Stay strong buddy!

Second, why do you want people to believe that you went to school with Susan Collins of all people? Very weird.

LOL!  I was just wondering that myself.  And to lie about it on top of it.

Not so.  I first brought up Johnson's visit to Kiev where he delivered the message to Zelensky about 100 pages or so earlier in this topic.

And it was Russian propaganda then too.  You're a Putin tool.  Just like ole tuck.  At least we know what Ole tuck is getting out of it....

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/11/us/republican-senators-ukraine-israel-bill.html

The vote was 67-27 to move forward on the package, which would dedicate $60.1 billion to helping Kyiv in its war against Russian aggression, send $14.1 billion to Israel for its war against Hamas and fund almost $10 billion in humanitarian assistance for civilians in conflict zones, while addressing threats to the Indo-Pacific region. In a rare Sunday session, 18 Republicans joined Democrats to advance the measure, which leaders hope the Senate will approve as early as Tuesday.

“It’s no exaggeration to say the eyes of the world are on the United States Senate,” Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the minority leader, said on the floor on Sunday, appealing to his colleagues to back the bill. He maintained that U.S. allies “don’t have the luxury of pretending that the world’s most dangerous aggressors are someone else’s problem and neither do we.”

Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the majority leader, said on the floor, “We’re going to keep working on this bill until the job is done.” He commended Republicans who had backed the measure for “working in good faith to get this done” and asserted that it was “essential” for the Senate to pass the legislation. It had been decades, Mr. Schumer added, since Congress considered a bill “that so significantly impacts not just our national security, not just the security of our allies, but the very security of Western democracy and our ideals.”

Putin should just pull his troops out of Ukraine's territory, he doesn't need us to do that

After Ukraine’s behavior towards Poland during WWII, I don’t really care about Ukraine’s problems.  Perhaps we should talk about how they “helped” Polish civilians during WWII.  Hehe..

Ukraine is among the most systematically corrupt nations in the world.  Easily top five but more like top three.  Half the aid sent there will result in bureaucrats upgrading their yachts and finally getting the villas they always wanted.  Trash.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/02/12/house-ukraine-johnson-senate/

There are efforts underway to go around Johnson and pass the bill through a Democratic-led discharge petition. Democrats need to gather at least four signatures from Republicans supportive of Ukraine funding to be able to introduce the petition, which probably wouldn’t happen until the end of the month, given the congressional calendar.

Its path would still be tricky in the House, given that some Democrats have objected to the Israeli government’s handling of the war in Gaza, where most homes have been destroyed or damaged, more than 12,300 children have been killed and a quarter of the population is starving, according to the United Nations. Enough Republicans would need to support the bill to make up for those Democrats who would not vote for the bill over the aid to Israel.

Let's keep the pressure up. The Russians are stretched thin now

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/putin-raise-age-military-service-32113745

Vladimir Putin is attempting to raise the age limit for army officers to 70 in a bid to bolster numbers, UK military intelligence has reported.

The move comes as Russia continues to lose large numbers of its troops in the ongoing war in Ukraine. The country is believed to have an estimated 1.3m military personnel, about twice the number of Ukrainian servicemen – but not all are fighting in the war.

A statement released today (Tuesday, February 13) by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said: "Russia is proposing a draft legislation to raise the age of military contract personnel, including those that were recruited before June 2023, to age 65 and age 70 for officers.

It wasn't Russian propaganda.  It came from western media sources.  Now tell me those western media sources are fueled by Russian propaganda.

Russia preparing for military confrontation with West, says Estonia

""Russia has chosen a path which is a long-term confrontation ... and the Kremlin is probably anticipating a possible conflict with NATO within the next decade or so," Kaupo Rosin told reporters at the release of Estonia's national security threats report.

A military attack by Russia is "highly unlikely" in the short term, he said, partly because Russia has to keep troops in Ukraine, and would remain unlikely if Russian buildup of forces was matched in Europe."

Full Estonian Intelligence Report

"Putin aims to secure victory in Ukraine to demonstrate geopolitical superiority over the West and reshape the European security landscape. While Putin may believe that time is on his side, counting on Western and Ukrainian fatigue, the West should not overestimate Russia’s strategic planning. As an intermediate goal, Russia would likely prefer to freeze the conflict on its own terms. To achieve this, Russia employs nuclear intimidation and covert communication." (Executive Report Item 7.)

"Russia has largely managed to maintain its position in most former Soviet territories outside the European Union despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. Moldova, however, stands out as it continues to pursue a pro-Western course at the national level. Russia is attempting to tilt Moldova back into its orbit by influencing the country’s electoral process in 2024-2025." (Executive Report Item 8.)

"Russia and China both share opposition to the United States and its allies, but unlike Russia, who is preoccupied with its war in Ukraine, China focuses more broadly on realising its global ambitions, seeing and cultivating its partnership with Russia within a larger framework, seeking to establish a global network that operates on China’s terms. Chinese and Russian media and ideological cooperation are likely to align the foreign policies of both countries further." (Executive Report Item 12.)

Seems like it might be a good idea to crush Russian imperial ambition now instead of going the appeasement route...

Gees, why didn't "corrupt" Ukraine want Russia running their lives? Hard to figure

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/02/13/boris-kagarlitsky-kaja-kallas-russia/

RIGA, Latvia — A Russian military court on Tuesday sentenced Boris Kagarlitsky, a prominent sociologist, to five years in prison for criticizing the war in Ukraine — a shocking turnabout after another court originally ordered Kagarlitsky to pay a $6,500 fine but no prison time.

The brutally toughened sentence was issued after an appeal from prosecutors, Russian state media reported, and it reflected a continuing harsh crackdown on the few dissident voices remaining in Russia after the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
