It was that way last year as well. It is a permanent rule in the CBA through 2030 to get gameday active rosters increased.   Makes it less of a game of attrition

It seems like a no-brainer to give yourself an extra man in case of injury.

What happened to the Covid thread re Bills and their opponent?  Anyways, perhaps this question should be posted someplace else.

Are we past the day and time that Covid can impact our rosters?  Or is there yet a test tomorrow (vaxed or unvaxed)?  Thanks and sorry if I'm in the wrong thread.

Weather not looking great for Sunday...calling for thunderstorms all day...has a game ever been rescheduled because of thunderstorms?

I've definitely seen games delayed a few times. Wasn't there a recent Super Bowl that had issues? 49ers/Ravens?

Yes, I believe it was delayed due to power outage, if memory serves...it will be interesting to see how tomorrow’s game is handled...does not appear to be any breaks in the weather...

NWS currently says scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, so it will all depend on where the cells are. Sounds like we're in jeopardy of those annoying small delays of 30 min - hour at a time.

As someone who works outside, I can honestly say it's very rare to get thunder that lasts all day. Maybe some thunder, but personally I'd be shocked if they had thunder for 3-4 hrs straight

All unvaxxed players test every day so not sure

I agree, but with the front settling right over Buffalo, the threat of a delay or two is real. It'll be pretty thick at times.

This seems weird or maybe I'm not understanding correctly.

If you have 8 active OL, you can have 2 extra actives. If you have 7 active OL, you lose those 2 extra actives.

What's the reason?

That's actually a great question.

I'm not sure of the reason.

I can speculate, that there may have been games where coaches chose to activate more skill players to have more options available, and perhaps in-game injuries put pressure on injured OLmen to finish the game, since they're so critical to it.  Assuming they're counting the LS as an OLman, 8 OLmen means you have 2 reserves (probably a swing tackle and an interior OL)

That's actually kind of minimalist.

I thought you could dress 46 or 47 even if there was only 7 active o-lineman.  48 if you had 8 active o-lineman.  Not positive though.

46 if you only have 7. I think teams were getting into trouble by not having enough OL for games.  3 injuries is a lot but not impossible so the league decided to incentivize keeping an 8th iirc

Why not just cap it out at 47 with 8 o-lineman then?  It makes no sense.  I'm pretty sure you can dress 47 even if you only dress 7 o-linemen.
