https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Agreement-For-Bringing-Peace-to-Afghanistan-02.29.20.pdf

“The United States is committed to start immediately to work with all relevant sides on a plan to expeditiously release combat and political prisoners as a confidence building measure with the coordination and approval of all relevant sides. Up to five thousand (5,000) prisoners of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States as a state and is known as the Taliban and up to one thousand (1,000) prisoners of the other side will be released by March 10, 2020, the first day of intra-Afghan negotiations, which corresponds to Rajab 15, 1441 on the Hijri Lunar calendar and Hoot 20, 1398 on the Hijri Solar calendar. “

Unless we can have unelected officials at State enter into agreements with other nations or other not nations, someone in the Executive branch had to have signed off on this and Trump was the leader of the Executive branch at the time it was agreed.

Both Trump and the Republican Party have said how great Trump was for getting this deal as well.

Where they involved in negotiating the release?  Yes.  But that's not was Billy said.  He said Trump released 5,000 prisoners.  Call it semantics all you want but words have meaning and Billy is not very good with words.

He did??  Please show us how Trump had and used the authority to release those prisoners.

You're already the laughing stock of the board.  Might as well keep it going.

Yes - he pressured Afghanistan leadership to release them.

Laughing stock? A supposed financial planner can’t read a graph?

Carry on Taliban Jim

Why is the mouthpiece of the party airing this?

It completely deviates from the norm.

Is it to distract from nationwide acceleration of Covid again?

Are the dems trying to ram through some legislation they want to avoid talking about?

are they trying to rebuild an appetite for a re-escalation or to pivot to new theatre?

there is clearly an agenda at work here. It’s not clear what it is.

Billsy continues to obsess about Trump.  Probably for the rest of time.  I can hear future generations of Billsy's speaking about how "200 million years ago Trump said mean things about people while White Supremacists pillaged and plundered the country once called the USA".

Crushing people showing patriotism, forcing people into covering their faces, radical intervention and segregation into the classroom, radical punishment for anyone who opposes their views.

But I thought HE released them.  Are you confused Billsy but you sure seem confused.

And yes I read that graph just fine.  You ***** up with your assertion that states with low vaccination rates are horrible while the graphs I showed  the state with the highest vaccination rate (Vermont) had an per capita case increase that was not that much less than the per capita rate of the state with the lowest vaccination rate (Alabama).  Prove me wrong.

Prove me wrong on either of my points. I debate you and  you constantly deflect with your silly immature nonsense which pretty much proves you cannot argue your points.  You never ever do. You just deflect.  You have failed time and time again to prove your assertions right and mine wrong.  What does that tell the logical minds?  BTW that question was for the others on the board not you.  See I used the word logical to define the noun mind.  Those two words don't go together with you.

So how did the US  let Russia out of their fight of 20 year?  I generally agree with some of your points, no need to make stuff up to prove your point.

After 20 years of financing Afghani rebels (taliban)  in their fight against Russia over oil and minerals, Russia gave up and  short time later  the US uses terrorists as an excuse to fight the same group.

The Taliban also released 1,000 Afghan soldiers.  Meanwhile replacing thousands of fighters isn't a hard task for the Taliban.  Hence the reason why Afghanistan never has and never will be conquered.

It was election politics. We were attacked the President felt like he had to attack back in a way for short term political gain

There was never a way to “win” in Afghanistan

South Korea is a prosperous democratic nation. We won that war

I don't think the Korean war was a war we won.  An armistice was called between SK, NK, China and the US to stop fighting.  And we were in SK much longer than 20 yrs, to keep NK at bay, even to this day.  The reasons to stay have grown in strategic ways, but the fact remains, we've never left.

I'm not defending Afghanistan, just pointing this out.
