sherpa Posted May 20, 2021 Share Posted May 20, 2021 It's very difficult to judge or evaluate IR video from a HUD camera. I've flown many sorties at sea using FLIR and you get some really strange images. Even the accurate ones are suspect unless you know the range and heat source. I doubt one in ten would be able to identify an aircraft carrier at 60 miles using FLIR with appropriate magnification unless you knew what you were looking at.
