The evangelical church faces a 'state of emergency' over the pandemic and politics, Andy Stanley says

Winning souls for Christ. Taking back America for God. Standing in the Gap.

Anyone who has spent time among white evangelical Christians has heard some of those phrases. The evangelical subculture is filled with militaristic rhetoric that depicts conservative Christians trying to "take back America" for God from the secular forces of evil.

But what happens when one of the nation's most famous evangelical leaders declares that "saving America is not the mission of the church?" When he says that loving people takes precedence over loving country? Or when he says that Christianity is not about winning, but "losing on purpose, with a purpose?"

This is part of the message he shares in his provocative new book, "Not In It To Win It:

Always enjoyed listening to Charles Stanley (I'm Catholic)  what a nice surprise his son gets it.

These are the people who Dems want to help, those stupid enough to have 300k in student debt and are a teacher. This women will literally never be financially stable because she is not intelligent enough to understand that $300k in debt is what doctors have, not teachers. For most of these people it is not helping l, it is enabling.

Today is Justice Clarence Thomas' 74th birthday. Happy birthday Clarence.  For those keeping score, it means another 10 years for Justice Thomas on the Supreme Court.  After being confirmed and beating then Senators Biden and Kennedy and the rests' best efforts, he stated he was 42 years old and was going to serve on the court for 42 years.  32 down, 10 to go.  Payback is a b!tch.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/bloomington-family-fights-transgender-daughter-141049168.html

Transgender kids should be helped and not mocked but this story is the definition of terrible parents. The kid was given agency over their life at the age of 3. A 3 year old should be given power over which spoon or which color pants they use, not over their gender. The kids mental health is obviously going to be a mess if you allow a 3 year old to make choices without any thought to long term consequences.

Interesting.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports that one method of deciding a tie by lot is to have the candidates draw slips of paper with one of them being marked as the winner.

“It could be a roll of a dice, high card, or rock-paper-scissors,” Secretary of State John Merrill told AL.com.

100-year-old WWII vet breaks down, says this isn't the ‘country we fought for’: ‘I am so upset’

"People don’t realize what they have," Dekel told the outlet. "The things we did and the things we fought for and the boys that died for it, it’s all gone down the drain."

"We haven’t got the country we had when I was raised, not at all," he says. "Nobody will have the fun I had. Nobody will have the opportunity I had. It’s just not the same and that’s not what our boys, that’s not what they died for."
