Cuomo sexual allegations

Thoughts about Cuomo:

- the classic lecher who hits on every young woman the office hires. And I can only assume it may have worked, at least a little, once or twice or he wouldn’t keep trying.

- or is he really that slow to catch on? Maybe. I mean, read the openly available profiles of his alleged victim Charlotte Bennett:

https://conandaily.com/2021/02/28/charlotte-bennett-biography-13-things-about-andrew-cuomos-ex-aide/

Very public about having been the victim of sexual assault. Worked on these issues. I’m just gonna say, “Unlikely subject to react well to old creeper big boss’s “playful” banter.” Andrew, it’s called google ... you type in a name, you find out who you’re dealing with before you go all repulsive old man on her.

- are these offenses that he should resign over? It’s getting closer. The one thing I haven’t seen so far: did any of these women see their career paths hindered by their refusal to indulge the handsy, chatty Gov? If so, he’s gotta go. Right now he’s in a gray area on that front. Don’t give me “but Al Franken” - he shouldn’t have resigned over his corny boomer antics either.

Full disclosure: I’m a boomer myself. I have daughters just like the Gov. Maybe you should see what they think about an old creeper asking his female staffers whether they’ve had sex with an older man.

I disagree only in the sense that the standards (resignation etc) set were set by people like Cuomo. He was a loud voice on this issue.   Believe women, trust without question unless of course the allegations are against them, then the woman are disposable and their stories untrue.

He’s the guy who infamously called for Kavanaugh to submit to the furor of the masses and to take a lie detector test.  Perhaps he should preemptively submit to one to help us understand that the women are not lying, they’re just overly sensitive to his gifts as a human.

We seem to be extremely comfortable with the concept of lofty standards like #believeher, yet uncomfortable with the fallout that naturally follows.

Then again, he’s the 3rd former Attorney Gen in our state that is dealing with controversy,  corruption and criminal activity.  It’s almost a job requirement so it’s understandable that they would think rules don’t apply to them—they usually don’t.

Franken actually did the honorable thing, ironically, following his own standard.

Early?

One of these allegations is 3 years old, the nursing home scandal is a year deep, and Cuomo has been exhibiting the behavior of an obnoxious and overbearing rich kid for a decade plus.

With respect to #metoo, men and women in his administration, and the reporters seeking out truth had no interest in these stories.

All that’s changed is he was accused of cooking the books post-Covid after getting rave reviews from the media, his admin, and his biggest cheerleader—him.

Now that the blood is splashing on their shoes, he’s expendable.

This is 3 years too late at best.

Maybe you should read the post to which I responded.  Could have saved yourself some typing.  And, if we're going to talk about the splashing of blood, you sir, as a Trumper, better get some galoshes.  Or you can clean your feet with magic, Lysol, and hydroxychloroquine.  Either one.

You cannot or should not talk like this.

I believe this is ageism. This is wrong. Just because he is older he doesn't have the right to hit in a younger lady??. Come on! If it was an older lady and younger man it is ok? What if the younger lady hit on him?

Please please....don't take away my day dreams at the mall!😜

Hoax.  Wanna castigate Cuomo?  Go for it.  But if you're a Trumper and if you defended Trump's magic/Lysol/fake news/hydroxychloroquine approach to this mess, it's best to address the Cuomo issue with a teeny tiny itsy bitsy bit of perspective as to where you stood on precisely the same question a few short months ago.

I agree with all of this.  Al Franken did something dumb, but he shouldn't have left if the only transgression was that stupid picture.  AC's (alleged) (mis)conduct is worse than Franken because AC is harassing employees.  Whether he resigns or not is almost immaterial.  There are supermajorities in both houses, and his political career is toast.

Ok, listen up people.

Their is a systemic issue here that has to be recognized before this behavior can be expected to change.

From a very young age, men, have been trained to try and try and try where as females, have generally been trained to resist resist resist.

It is difficult for the, male species to switch off genetics.

2 good examples.

1) In the species of praying mantis, the female bites off the head of the male after he is successful, thus making it impossible for him to try try try.

2) in any bar if a man stands up in the bar and declares his desire to have *****(as Sheldon would say) what are the odds?

If a females stands on the bar and declares her desire, what are the odds?

Thus the genetic challenge of males to have the need to try try try.

Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls.

So Gov...your mistake is in not recognizing when in charge you morf into a praying mantis whether you like it or not.

Say Good night Gracee.

Good try, Niagara.
As I said earlier, setting aside exactly what he admits doing here ... a big part of the problem is not understanding your audience. It doesn’t take a social genius to understand that Charlotte Bennett was really really unlikely to exchange saucy banter with the Gov. Unless he’s

the true kind of jerk who actually enjoys making his young assistants squirm, and therefore seeks out women he KNOWS will be offended.

I realize this is dangerous territory,

but I go back to the favorite line regarding Trump’s ham-handed seduction ploys (“grab ‘em by the p—“ or “I just start kissing them”): “uninvited” advanced. I’m no defender of his actions, but “uninvited” is in the eyes of the touch-ee, not the touch-er. Maybe some women enjoy the attention of an old creeper. But if you guess wrong, that’s on you. Like I said, know your audience.

And know yourself and how you appear to others. There’s a great monologue by Leonard Cohen about this - he was about 80 at the time. I can’t do it justice but it’s something like this:

You start out as a young man being irresistible to women. Then suddenly you become quite resistible. And then the worst part is you become downright repulsive. (NOTE: Cuomo is here. What used to charm younger women now just creeps them out.) But the weirdest thing of all happens after that. You become adorable again (NOTE: this is where touchy Biden now finds himself, adorable old grandpa; this is where Trump should be, but he insists on being stuck in repulsive territory. I blame viagra)

Thanks for joining the conversation!  I figured you’d be too busy gnawing on a block of HCQ the size of a car battery to participate.  Good to “see” you!

I didn't respond to you.  Just made a comment on your usual idiocy which you fancy is humor.

I will say your observation on Lee Smith retiring was a (finally) worthwhile contribution.

Hoax.  I make a lot of worthwhile contributions.  For instance, I’ve pointed out your “I’m a physician and HCQ is an effective treatment for COVID” hoax.  Last I checked, that position is not one that is supported by the relevant scientific community.  So maybe before you accuse others of idiocy . . . I’ll leave it to you to figure that one out.
