Just to clarify, Stills hasn’t signed yet correct?

Correct. Needs to go through 6 day protocol before he can even enter the building.

I feel like this post was tongue and cheek but figured I'd answer anyways.

Just a little note that Stills was being paid comparably to Brown in Miami then Houston and as someone who was traded away like a bad penny then apparently asked for his release, it's not a given to me that he'd want to sign a "discount contract".

In fact, Stills Wiki page has changed back to "free agent" so I'm thinking with the Nelson signing to the PS perhaps Stills priced himself out of our market.

If he's haggling over money at this stage of the season, he's an idiot.

Wondering if signing speedster JJ Nelson means they couldn't get something done with Stills...

Or if they are still looking Beane is really looking to add speed as Stills runs a 4.38...turning Bills into a version of the Chiefs...

I'll apologize in advance in case this was discussed somewhere in the previous 20 pages. Whose roster spot would Stills take, presuming Cole and Smoke are both good to go in seven days? It would seem he'd get Gabriel Davis' playing time, but we cannot try to sneak him through waivers or expose him on the practice squad. Maybe if Gillim is destined for IR? But even then does Stills have a place on the gameday active list? The roster is pretty packed at this point.

Me too, there just hasn’t been any information to go on, other than it’s not season ending ligament damage because McDermott talked about Beasley working with trainers and rehabbing.

As we can see with Green Bay’s LT, if it was ACL, it would have been reported by now.

Hopefully it’s a common knee strain and instead of 3-weeks, Beasley can push it and get back in 2-weeks.

Plus Bease is a nimble little dude, hopefully that bodes well for rehab and what he asks of his knees, versus a 300 lb OL.

Pretty strong reaction for not knowing the situation. I know you said 'if', but still...

Just amazes me how some people talk about others, I'm probably reacting more from the Cam thread than your post.

If they sign Stills, my assumption is that Beasley won't be ready for the playoffs.

I think if we have Bease, brown and Diggs on the field all at the same time, this team can possibly get to the superbowl. I don't know how teams could cover all those guys for 60 mins. Even if teams found a way, that still leaves Davis out there who's been solid for a rookie. I don't want to get overly excited, but I'm pumped to see this offense at full strength

Even without Brown the Bills offense has looked unstoppable at times.

I believe Beasley will be on the field producing in the first round.

I believe Smoke is going to be smoking CBs in the first round.

Davis now has a full regular season under his belt and out-preformed expectations. He is a future #1 or #2 WR for Buffalo.

Insurance is important, especially in the COVID postseason. But who do you sacrifice to plus up what is already one of the league's very top WR corps?

Anyone can update a wiki page so don't take that for anything. Also, while I get your point about money, maybe it's just me but it would seem smart to sign on for the playoffs and if he plays really well, he could possibly get a decent pay increase next year.

Thank you for identifying this. I have read (this morning) Stills being called "trash" and an "idiot". I thoroughly enjoy Two Bills Drive and its football discourse. I do not understand, and am offended by, the willingness of some to ignorantly (no real knowledge of whom they speak) use extremely negative descriptions. Just my two cents.

I did say "if."  Again, the guy made $7M from the Texans this year.  He has a chance to join a SB contender.  If it's about money...

Stills has "liked" several Bills- and Josh-related tweets over the past two days, including news about fans being allowed and arguments for Josh being the league MVP. I don't see any other team's tweets getting his attention. I know that may seem trivial, but celebs know their "likes" can be seen and often used to send a message. Seems to me Stills wants the chance. I cannot imagine money is any issue for either side at this stage of the year. My guess is either protocol is slowing it down or the Bills are waiting to see exactly what they need and where. No need to pull the trigger any earlier than necessary. Lastly, Coach McD clearly sees competitive advantage in giving opponents as little info to work with as possible. He knows the value of every minute to prepare.

I noted that you said if, and you have no idea that it's about the money. He'll get paid for 1 game. I can't imagine the money being an issue. Will he be on the active roster? That might be what it's about. He might not care about the money, but if he's going to go somewhere , he might want to actually play.

I would think this is the issue- why move to Buffalo for a few months unless you can show off? Guys who are competitive don't look at a ring they did not earn as well as one they were integral in.

Stills primarily plays outside so I don’t think one has much to do with the other.

sure it does. 1/3 of his plays come from slot. bills/beane just trying to get better but when beasely went down and then you hear all this WR talk and stills. then a day or two later you hear beasely is rehabbing and allen seems positive and no stills signing still. this covid process talk i dont buy. they just signed 2 WR in 48 hrs.

McDermott has literally told us the two things are unrelated and while he might play things close to the vest he doesn't really lie to us.
