Returntoglory
Am I the only one that is bothered by this? I won't get into the right or wrong with her death, but WTF is a "Sports Network" doing covering these types of stories other than creating further divide. Nothing Sports related about this ESPN story. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/29953463/one-officer-indicted-grand-jury-breonna-taylor-killing
Warcodered
I mean this isn't going to be here long but of course ESPN is covering this have you paid attention all offseason?
Jauronimo
Does anyone else think indict is a weird word? I can't think of any other words where "ict" is pronounced ight. 1 6
section122
Did you read the article? Or just get your panties in an immediate bunch? Without counting words over 50% of the article is directly related to sports. For example: The WNBA dedicated its season to Taylor and the Say Her Name movement. Before the opening game of the WNBA season in July, the New York Liberty and Seattle Storm held a 26-second moment of silence. Taylor was 26 at the time she was killed. Her name is on the back of team jerseys, and has been inked on shoes in both the WNBA and NBA. NFL players were allowed to wear a helmet decal with her name during season openers. "We are dedicating this season to Breonna Taylor, an outstanding EMT who was murdered over 130 days ago in her home," Liberty player Layshia Clarendon said in July.
Nester
There is a sports angle to this. Remember when all those millionaires took a single day off work and stopped racism?

I should have said it was to end racism. Edited September 23, 2020 by Rochesterian Bills Fan 2

Not many know this but the urban word often (mis)spelled a’ight is actually spelled eyeict.
mykidsdad
What happened to her was a tragedy, and it appears a crime, but I don't see the sports part either. I like sports to escape. The world sucks. I kind of get that part, and I like having a place that doesn't suck once in a while. Go Bills.

I think the point might be a large percentage of their viewers/readers feel they are unable to escape through sports, because it's happening right outside their doors. I've always hated that expression whenever I see it. FYI, I did read the entire article.
