Maybe it is just, “these guys know how to evaluate receivers?” That would be a great omen for Hodgins and future picks.

The Bills scouts did a ton of work on WR this past year because they thought they were taking one early. So I won’t be surprised if they end up with one or two gems because of the extensive work they did on the class. I believe there is video of Beane from the combine openly rooting for Gabe Davis to run a slower 40 so he could have a chance to get him later.

ColoradoBills
From the article on @HappyDayspost a bit ago. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2020/08/bills-training-camp-2020-stefon-diggs-frustrates-defense-turns-in-big-day-day-8-observations.html Orchard Park, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde said on Monday that this year’s training camp has been the most competitive between the offense and defense since he arrived in Buffalo in 2017. That was the perfect preview for a day where the offense shined behind the playmaking of new star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The defense was visibly frustrated with the amount of catches Diggs was able to make through practice. In an early 11-on-11 session, Diggs caught passes on three straight plays. Then later on quarterback Josh Allen went to Diggs on four straight plays, all ending in completions for the offense. 3. Fight breaks out Cox Jr. was not happy about losing those reps and a skirmish ensued as several players started to wrestle in a pile that quickly included all members of both lines. Ty Nsekhe was one of the aggressors and had to be pulled out of the pile. Quinton Jefferson seemed to be trying to either keep the peace or get into the action as he entered the middle of the pile. Tempers eventually calmed down and the coaching staff got the players right back to practice. Good Grief I can't wait for the season to start! Some may have thought that Gabe Davis would be a long shot to have an impact on this team because of the veterans we have in place and because he was taken in the 4th round... but look at DeAndre Hopkins or our very own in Stefon Diggs... doesn’t happen a lot but it does happen... looks like we may have found the next hidden gem in this years draft class...

Deandre Hopkins was a 1st round pick. I think you’re thinking of Martavis Bryant.

HappyDays
Offense moved the ball well today and that's with John Brown having a rest day. Never thought I'd say this after last year but we have a deep WR corps.
