Only because the general public doesn't understand how to use them properly.

I see people set them down with the inside on the surface of a table or bar.

I watch people walk around with them under their noses.

I watch people handle them constantly without disinfecting their hands.

Shall I go on?

that all stems from the fact that this country as a WHOLE has not taken this pandemic seriously at all. in Europe and Asian countries mask use was strictly enforced (and still is). America is so far behind these other 1st world countries is embarrassing. Countries like South Korea and Singapore have world class tracking systems that they developed. America sat on their ass for weeks and did nothing.

You're gonna take the word of scientists over people who think the virus is a hoax made up by Democrats?

America should have been on top of this virus before anyone. richest country to ever exist in history, best doctors in the world, some of the best scientists in the world.

yet the federal government thought it was a hoax and look where we are now. Looks like America isn't so "great" after all

I don't disagree with that.

CDC: 10,600 employees budget $11.9 billion.

Dept of HHS 80,000 employees Budget $1.26 Trillion,

FEMA : 10,056 employees Budget $13.5 trillion.

What are we getting fo rour money?

Russia isn't apart of the EU ...

So what?  If you're going to compare a country with 4 million sq miles, you should also include a large country that is in Europe.  Otherwise, it's cherry picked data to support a crusade?  Why aren't they comparing EU to the US Northeast?

I could have sworn that the panic porn was about the number of cases declining precipitously in Europe compared to the US?

It's fitting for the fluffers on this site

Again, what’s a fluffer?  You seem to have some knowledge, and possibly some expertise, in this area.  Please enlighten us as to what you mean.

Question.  Is today’s GAO report about the ineptitude of the Trump Administration with respect to its COVID-19 response a hoax?

Searching and finding answers on your own is good brain food.

As always, thanks for the daily confirmation that your goal is to pollute.

Actually my goal is to learn from the purported intellectual standard bearer of this community what exactly a fluffer is.

Perhaps without your input on this important subject I will be forced to assume that you are a fluffer.  Along those lines, and until further notice, I have no choice but to put you on the Fluffer List.  Congratulations, sir!

4K hospital beds taken by COVID-19 patients out of 80K acute care beds statewide (according to this 2016 report), in a state with 29M people is cause for a lock down? Abbot said there were 20K available beds available for COVID-19 back in April.

I wonder who knows more about the TX hospitalization situation: You or Gov. Abbott:

The GAO report on the disbursement of federal aid funds?

You are shocked that the government is not efficient in quickly implementing a totally new program for which the infrastructure didn't exist prior to the pandemic?  Blow me down.

I'm not sure your point about the Russia data. Do you want to cherry pick the data from an untrustworthy country to make some kind of point?

Keep up.   The panic porn of the day is that Europe has successfully contained the virus, while the US has not.  It's an easy stat to fudge when you exclude a certain very large country from the data that hasn't gone though a peak.   But, details.

A polluter must pollute.  Otherwise, there's no sense in being.

Sadly that’s true.  There’s a lot of blame to go around in this situation.  Unfortunately what should be the concomitant accountability is absent.  Which means that instead of trying to accept the report as constructive criticism and a useful learning tool the plan likely will be to bury it and to ignore its findings.

As I recall you’re the one who injected the Fluffer question into this morning’s discussion.  Unfortunately it was answered in a way that seems to have dampened your cheer and brought you chagrin.

Surely as the intellectual leader of this community you know that the proper construction of your point is “read neither the GAO report nor its recommendations.”

Agreed.  Stop posting your drivel so we can have some intelligent discourse around here about things like the hottest new conspiracy theory, how dumb the liberals are, and the best Trump Hoax.  I demand better quality in these conversations.  And it starts with you, sir.

The January 4, 2017 White House meeting notes are not a conspiracy theory.  They are a fact.

I guess we have found one thing to scratch off the Trump Hoax list.  Authenticity of whatever memo it is that is under discussion is acknowledged.  The alt-wrong interpretation of its contents remains a hoax.
