Do you guys feel coaches and management will make the necessary adjustments to truly make this team 'Championship Caliber' moving forward?  Personally, I don't think what we saw in the regular season will cut it.

The schedule this year has accelerated the appearance of the rebuild.

We're going to be major regression candidates next season.

Also, as fan expectations increase with regard to Allen and as their patience wanes, his play, while remaining about the same, will seem increasingly unacceptable.

That will add to the perception that we are regressing.

Enjoy this year NOW.  You have to strike while the iron is hot, and many things have worked to our favor this year, not least of which is the health of the team.

Bills 34, I’m betting the State would cough up half if the Pegulas basically will revitalize the downtown area, and probably build a couple more hotels.  I may be delusional, but if I were Terry and Kim, I’d go to Goodell and say we’ll build this and invest in this area, but you have to cough up a SB in the future.  I couldn’t agree more than a Lucas Oil stadium although I’d love for it to be retractable so when Miami comes up in December we open the roof.  By 2023, we should have four winning seasons, and much more national coverage.

Good take though bud.

I would love it if the state/county contributed even close to half the cost. I just cannot see putting more money into New Era. The Pegulas have invested some into downtown but more needs to be done. I don’t know if they will invest more or not but I am sure we will find out soon enough.

BTW Lucas is a retractable roof- something similar would blend well with Buffalo’s architecture and landscape.

Go Bills!!!

The pieces are there and this is the best team we've seen in two decades. The Pats dynasty, meanwhile, is breathing its last gasp. The Jets have ole googly-eyed Gase at the helm and the Dolphins are two years away.

Enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Why are the Dolphins two years away. They just beat the Pats in New England.  Have 14 draft picks and 100+ of cap room.

I think the 2014 and 2004 team were better but clearly the foundation is there.

and this stuff is so silly to me but hey if a player gets motivated by it, it’s a good thing.

Agree.  The Dolphins will be Buffalo's main competition for the AFCE very soon.  Miami has a good GM and HC, they just need to hit on the majority of their wealth of picks.  They have something like six in rounds 1-3.

It's cute to say you're Championship Caliber when you're regularly coaching not to lose.  I just don't think this approach will result in a Super Bowl.  Praying that they start proving me wrong on Saturday. Not asking for a 51-3 drubbing, but something along the lines of 31-10 would be ideal.

I'm sure proving you wrong is really high on their list of priorities.

McD is too conservative, especially when he has a lead.  Prevent defense and going into a shell offensively are not recipes for victory over other "playoff caliber" teams.  This is something that McD will have to realize and grow out of.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I think "Championship Caliber" is just McD raising the bar for the team.  I wouldn't read anything more into it other than that.

It is raising the bar for the Team. McD included.

 He is still learning.

I do not  care how , or by how much they win.

This is the best team we have been a part of in decades.

Let it Roll !

 Go Bills

 beat that azz

Best coach we may EVER have had. Realize that will be an unpopular opinion, but I thought Marv should have been replaced after the first Super Bowl loss. He NEVER had control of his team in the way he should have. Had that team had Parcells or Johnson, we'd have two or three Super Bowls.

Marv was a great coach in that he could manage high maintenance personalities but he didn't have a process or culture, which is why McDermott maybe our best coach ever, when we get more talent we will be consistently great.

The Bills were fortunate to have the schedule work in their favor this year but we still could not beat the good teams consistently.

The Bills have trouble scoring more than 17 points per game.

I expect they will be better in these areas next year.

I would like to see Beane have a great draft scouting effort and picking the best players, as opposed to trading away picks to pick Josh Allen when Lamar Jackson could have fell in your lap (see Doug Whaley and Sammy Watkins). Not totally sold on Beane yet.

Lamar wont last long, once his legs go he will be rg3, who was lamar before lamar, Kaepernick before that.

Marrone started the messaging on the walls from what I remember.

Obviously we are in a good spot now with MCD, but Marrone Did some good things.

Marrone was better than rex in that regard.

every coach before McDermott didn't have his Process and thats what makes him great, hes still a work in progress as a game day coach but as far as a program goes hes next level.
