Freddie's Dead
Saw this live, it was awesome. In that slow drawl "Kahl (Kyle Williams) my 'Cheat Code'". Kyle gives him D-line "cheat code" tips. He also said variations of this about 100 times, "Gotta do mah 1 11." He also wants to bring his horses up from Texas, they calm him down. Since he weighs almost 3 times the normal jockey, he must ride a big ass horse. Great interview.

Happy
Admittedly, I was a little skeptical of Ed Oliver, but he's really growing on me. Great pick who is starting to live up to the hype surrounding him last April. Also seems to have a great attitude and work ethic.

Da webster guy
Rookie linemen on both sides of the ball take awhile to get rolling. Ed is way ahead of Cody at this point. The thing about Ed that's surprised me is his power. In college it seemed his strength was how quickly he fired out of his stance and split defenders, which really is his main objective as the 3 tech here, but he's shown way more power and bullrush for a guy giving up 40-50 lbs to the guard blocking him than I expected. Pro qb's are way better at cadence and fooling dLines with their hard counts etc. than in college. When Ed gets better at timing snaps he's going to really shine. What a perfect pick for this team on and off the field.

You have to pretty darn strong to dominate a position usually played by athletes 20-30 pounds heavier.

If he has that move he should use it more than 1 time. I'm not just saying this to have a hot take. Don't get me wrong Oliver is doing dirty work out there. He's not a bust by any means. Actually Phillips and Oliver should be starting but Oliver continue to do dirty work. He's more of a block eater to me which is fine. Not why we drafted him top 10, but his limit pass rush moves won't allow him to get many sacks. McDermott and Frazier will scheme him free at times which is how he'll get pressure. Ranking in the 95th percentile or above at your position in any one drill is impressive. Landing with that ranking at every movement drill is just insanity. These are linebacker numbers. Being slightly undersized for the position he plays, I just didn't expect the straight line power against pro's that are 50 lbs heavier. Really a perfect fit for this defense and he's still relatively slow off the snap on a lot of plays as he adjusts to the game.

Punching Bag
He made a comment appreciating Kyle's input and his 15 years of service and then said something like (Jim I am a Systems Engineer not a stenographer) "I know I can do better, I am a better athlete than him." If they lose to the Patriots, I can live with that. It is HOW they play, not just the result.
