Julian Assange In Custody

PARIS — Ecuador handed Julian Assange over to British authorities Thursday, ending a standoff that left the controversial WikiLeaks founder holed up in the Ecuadoran embassy in London for nearly seven years.

Ecuador, which took Assange in when he was facing a Swedish rape investigation in 2012, said it was rescinding asylum beacuse he of his “discourteous and aggressive behavior” and for violating the terms of his asylum.

Sweden dropped its sex crimes inquiry in May 2017 — Assange had always denied the allegations. But he still faces up to a year in prison in Britain for jumping bail in 2012. And, more than anything, he fears extradition to the United States, which has been investigating him for espionage, the publication of sensitive government documents and coordination with Russia.

“Ecuador has decided to terminate the diplomatic asylum granted to Mr. Assange in 2012,” said President Lenin Moreno in a video statement tweeted by the country’s communications department. “The asylum of Mr. Assange is unsustainable and no longer viable.”

I saw this reported elsewhere.

Anyone else suspicious of the timing?  So close after the completion of the Mueller report.  On the day Barr announced a redacted version would soon be available.  When questions are starting to be raised of the Obama administration spying on political opposition with the help of the British government

Chaos? How so? Because someone left their government job? It happens all the time.

Not like this. It's a friggin turnstile. Incompetent government. And look at what he is trying to pack the fed with. When have been lucky so far this clown has not caused a major disaster. Closing the southern border would do that

Mr. Assange is also suspected of aiding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election by releasing material stolen from the computers of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic Party. In July, the Justice Department charged 12 Russian intelligence officers with hacking those computers, and the indictment contends that at least one of them was in contact with WikiLeaks.

Mr. Assange’s arrest now opens a new avenue for United States counterintelligence investigations into Russia’s efforts to interfere with the presidential election.

Attorney General William Barr has said that Robert S. Mueller, the special counsel charged with investigating that interference, found no evidence that the Trump campaign had colluded with the Russian efforts.

But indictments filed by the special counsel have indicated that Mr. Assange may be in a unique position to know about any possible intersection of the simultaneous efforts by Russia and the Trump campaign to damage the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton.

How many times have you crapped your pants over this during this morning?  How do you prove that any leaks actually influenced the 2016 election?

All you clowns who claimed Hillary "stole" the nomination from Bernie basically prove he had an influence on the election

This makes no sense.  Because the DNC rigged their primary to screw over Bernie, Assmange influenced the election?

Since it is Lent and tomorrow is Friday, here's a nice little pasta fagioli recipe:

--Mince up a couple cloves of garlic and chop a half of a yellow onion into small diced pieces.

--heat up some olive oil in a medium size sauce pan and put the garlic and onion in. Wait until the onions get clear.

--take three plum tomatoes and chop them into small pieces (not too small).

--take a stalk of lettuce and slice it lengthwise.

--open up two cans of cannellini beans -- don't drain them (or halfway drain them if you like).

--you need a few fresh basil leaves, chopped.

--when the onions and garlic are ready, then put in the tomatoes and dump in the beans and fill each can with water and dump them in.  Put in the celery and the basil, too.  You'll need about a tablespoon of salt, and a teaspoon of ground black pepper.  Get it up to a boil and then simmer it down for about 45 minutes.

--Make the pasta in a separate sauce pan and when the soup is ready, put the two together.   You should add some grated parmesean cheese, maybe some crushed red pepper, and if you want it a bit creamier, put a touch of butter in the bowl.

A little crusty bread and a cold beer to go with it.

Wiki released selective emails to spread discontent about that supposed screwing of Bernie, although it was we good moderate Dems voters that snuffed him out. But the misinformation campaign  lead some left leaning Dems to stay home in 2016 and helping Trump win. It was misinformation because of the story spread by Trump and company (you guys) over this.

You are making our board look bad, but that's the point, right. Making sure decent people stay away

Funny, after the MUELLER INVESTIGATION concluded, the charge against Assange is for hacking NOT RELATED to the 2016 election.

We don't really know that, since so far we've only been served Mueller Light, not the Mueller Genuine Draft.

No, no, no. I'm protecting the integrity of this board. This is an important subject to discuss. What's to keep you from changing the thread title or even deleting the entire thread when things don't go your way? You reap what you sow.

Joke aside - it sounds like the indictment will be for the 2010 breach.

Wonder if Assange cut a deal on 2016 (as predicted for over a year now).

There will be TONS of disinformation on this story from all sides, especially Assange's.

Does his arrest by the Trump people--Pompeo said he was a leach--change the deep state narrative?

It depends entirely on what you mean by the deep state narrative, and more importantly, which side of the coin nabbed him.

If it's the "white hats" (for lack of a more precise term), which is where I lean early, then we're about to go into light speed in terms of the cleanup. If it's "black hats/cabal" (for lack of a more precise term), then he'll be dead within the week.

I take it to mean Obama/Clinton people for the black hats, right? Who have they killed in custody? That would be something

So if he's alive in a week, then we can finally call this whole storm over soon? Thank god.
