Couple of Thoughts ...

  • Never Hit a Woman
  • Don't lie to your employer or you deserve the consequences
  • Nothing good happens at 3:45AM in the morning (time of incident)
  • TMZ apparently has better investigators than the NFL
  • Find it interesting that police did not file any charges who had all parties involved and copy of tape in hand
  • Not sure if accurate, as was on the internet, but the woman (19 years old) supposedly was yelling outside the room in the hallway for over 30 minutes (now if accurate wondering why wasn't removed by hotel security prior to video incident) and yelling racially insensitive comments as they were obviously kicked out of the party in the room.
  • Joe Mixon video previously posted, Tyreke Hill incident, Ray Rice, Greg Hardy indictment ... SIGNIFICANTLY .. worse than this video
  • Believe he will be back in the NFL .. question is which team.

Nice post.

Yes, TMZ does a great job. I hope they find the Tyreek Hill video soon.

I don't want this to come across the wrong way. But it sounds like both people involved were at fault and hunt is taking the fall. Don't get me wrong, no man should ever assault a woman in any way, shape or form, and hunt should've called hotel security before trying to handle the situation himself. However i think with current society, men are always gonna be to blame in these situations. I think we will see more and more situations like this in the future. After all that shady drama happened over the summer, I had no doubt he was gone.

Hunt is Cheap?

There was something somewhere about part of the argument being who would pay for the Uber to get the woman home.  Call her an Uber and tell her it's waiting for her, get downstairs and get it, way less costly than losing a game check or more.

Someone needs to teach these players about their new "natural resources", hotel security and throwing a few bucks at a situation to make it go away quietly.

I applaud the folks who think this is an assault case worthy of punishment, but I suspect the prosecutors decided the case was pretty much weak sauce.  When you got folks being shot and pistolwhipped all over your city and an underage woman who visibly appears impaired (drunk or drugged) on the video in an altercation with a star athlete, even though it's despicable behavior she's not a hugely credible witness and it appears relatively (relatively) minor.  Doesn't mean I condone it or think it's nothing - just I understand why the prosecutors didn't line up to sign up on this one.

If this was already posted in this thread, apologies.  This was an article in the Kansas City Star.

Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt is unemployed ... but not for his violence against a woman

One bit of logistics before we proceed. The Chiefs, according to a source, knew immediately upon seeing the video that Hunt would never play for them again. They waited until the NFL put him on the Commissioner Exempt List to ensure he wouldn’t play against them this season.

In the video where she is talking to the police, she said Hunt took her phone so she couldn’t call anyone for a ride or Uber. She said she asked the front desk and wanted to call 911 and they wouldn’t help her. She said they did end up getting her phone back for her, post-assault.

From knowledge of my girlfriend, though late to the conversation, the teams and players have handlers/coaches that make the women sign waivers and turn over their phones to them. Someone of Hunt's level would likely have a full time handler who has the women sign waivers to go to the hotel that are commonly called "rapey waivers" and also submit their phones for inspection if not completely turn them over.

One of the biggest she had to deal with was the ***** with Kobe Bryant and waivers to just be around him. She wasn't allowed to have her phone when near him at certain events. Some times these were 2 or 3 am with games the next afternoon and out until 7 or 8 am. She dated a Laker for quite a while until she realized he was engaged; sucked because she met the man's family and spent the holidays with them and no one told her.

Smart of the Chiefs to get out in front and release him before the first news cycle.

Kareem forgot the golden rule:  “don’t get caught on video”

Yep. Outstanding decision by KC.

Kareem will, undoubtedly, be playing for another team next year, but there was no other right choice: treat a woman like that, get sh!tcanned.

rookie contract- Hunt really ***** up.  He never got paid.  He will be back in time.  Bargain bin initial contract.  Joe Mixon is a big part of Cincy's offense.  If he can make it back, so can Hunt.  And it's hard to feel sorry for Ray Rice.   But his name has become synonymous with any repugnant behavior, and his is a pariah.  At some point people need to learn to forgive

Whataboutisms here!! Get'cher white hot whataboutisms here!!

Surprised you're not here saying that hunt stabbed the girl 6 times then hit her with a club while dragging her by the hair out of the hotel.  Wheres @TheTruthHurts he can add the part where he saw hunt fly his helicopter down the hallway and hit her with the blades and she lost her leg but they reattached it and she's better now

Finally saw the video and showed it to my wife.  We both agree that while it's not a good look for Hunt, it's not even close to the violent attack being portrayed.  It's no surprise the cops did nothing and that she didn't even think enough of it file a complaint.

Pretty much the response from every level headed person.
