If teams really did subscribe to the BPA theory of the draft, there would be no trades. You would just take the BPA. But, there are plenty trades.

I think teams basically say bpa as it applies to a general need on their team.

The top 4 teams plus the Bills at 6 all have quarterbacks. It seems the Giants get a stroke of luck and get to pick the top qb at 5.Seems some franchises just fall into luck. They get their runningback this season, already have good receivers and now get a qb next draft.Kinda like the Colts go from Manning to Luck and teams like us that were 7-9 forever never truly got to have a choice for the top qb or rb or wr...I bet a team like the Giants turns it around real fast. Not complaining about Josh, but if we had waited a year we would have been in line for the top or 2nd to top qb.I like Greedy ,but I know the team really needs offensive lineman and receivers.Greedy would make our secondary elite...

Jamie, honestly, I’ve been thinking that about the Gmen for awhile.

Greedy would, it's just tiresome to think of them going D, and furthermore, DB...it would make us ridiculously good and would be agreeable, but we have such other more demanding needs that it is annoying that the BPA for those needs won’t likely be there when we pick.

trade down, maybe?

also plenty of debate about who the BPA is.   Or if you have a franchise QB, you wouldn't take BPA QB.  You'd trade back and get the best OL, DE, CB, etc.

If BPA is a QB, teams will want to trade up.

This would be a good scenario. Trade down to pick up OL and WR.

If we do draft a punter in the first round....we both have to get a tattoo of his jersey.  Deal?

DEAL! and it has to be lower, lower back.

It won't end that way. The Bills will probably win a couple more. I bet we pick somewhere around pick 10 or 11.

I was going to say while it is a really long shot we are only two games out of second place with a number of other teams only sitting two games ahead.  Right now I would have to pick the Chargers and one team from the AFCN as the Wild Cards but stranger things have happened.

I don't see big offers coming for trade ups to the top six next spring.  At what point is it not worth picking up a couple measly low picks versus taking a guy that may not be a tremendous need (although very useful) in Greedy?

The Bills QB deficiency doesn't have anything to do with luck though........Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Mahomes, Watson...............that's a lot of talent that the Bills record didn't preclude them from taking........had nothing to do with their first round draft pick status.   Just aren't a well run franchise.

Corner with our top 10 pick, then offense the rest of the draft.

A corner though possibly the best value for our draft slot will make a lot of heads explode.  Today we have guys talking about picking up "modern" OC's and HC's as though they were waiting in the neighborhood bar for an offer.  Guys here will post endless "I am done with this team" threads if a CB happens.

Then get him.

BPA is BPA.

Unless that team employs Marv Levy as GM.

What if the BPA is a longsnapper?

Greatest accuracy/snap strength of all time. Wow's scouts all over the country with his rocket snaps.

BPA is never 100% BPA.
