Serious question: If this team continues to go the route that it is going what makes anyone think players will want to come to Buffalo to play?

I get that the Bills will have plenty of money to sign free agents next year but if they don't show any signs of being able to win what makes the front office think they will be able to sign players.  They have already shown they want players that fit their mold so that limits who they will look to sign.  Not to mention they haven't shown they know what they are doing.  You start Peterman the first game of the season and he stinks it up AGAIN, then you bring Allen in to start the second game but you don't sign another QB and keep Peterman on the roster.  The receivers are the worst I have ever seen in the NFL which they should have seen that before the fans.  The OL is horrendous.  I just don't see many players wanting to come here next year and I can't see the team handing out guaranteed contracts like candy.  I just don't see how the team is going to improve to much of anything next year and I'm afraid we will become the new Cleveland Browns.

Somebody help to see what I am not seeing so I can have some hope for the future of my Bills.

You need more than that if you are trying to lure talented free agents to your team.

Which means a team in Buffalo's position has to offer more average per year dollars and more guaranteed money than other teams.

Of course as soon as they do that there will be tons of posts about how the FA signer is not playing to his $ value.

We already got that with Star and Murphy.  LOL

That being said even overpaying will not get the players they may want.

Carlos Hyde, Jarvis Landry (whether by trade or signing him, they still gave him a boatload of money). Gaines from the Bills

Hyde is the only guy they signed.

The rest of their acquisitions were all brought in by trades, so the notion that money talks doesn't hold much weight when using the Browns as an example.

Exactly . Even when we had cap space we were never in the discussion for free agents for years because of the culture here . The only one who took the money was Mario Williams .

So, Hyde really.. and we got an aging RB in Ivory. The rest of the guys are super over paid (like star!).. guys we could have got too (AJ and Drew Stanton lol). We signed a lot of free agents turns out! So I don't see dissimilarities here.. at all. Strikingly similar really.

This team is good at getting get in UDFAs, and players who look undervalued. Begs the question, could we get that guy to sign on to a team that is regarded to be tanking? Kiss of death for a FA."Uh no thanks I'll go to this team that'll pay me just as much and tries to win and make my career look better being on a team that tries it's best and hopefully get me one last good contract."

True, but that was trade related.

Here is Browns 2017 FA signings.

Note:  Zeitler's contract is more than the Bills entire offensive line contracts put together which is 32 million.

It really is that simple as to why the Bills have a bad OL.

Kevin Zeitler G 27 CIN CLE 5 $60,000,000 $12,000,000 $31,500,000 $23,000,000 $8,400,000

They have throughout history! Build a winner, pay, and take care of players! Please look at the 1984 - 1985 - 1986 seasons and stop making ridiculous posts!

It’s always been about the money. If Andy Dalton doesn’t throw that TD the drought continues. At best they finish 4-12 this year and gear up strong for free agency as well as the draft. We’ve finally got a GM, Head Coach and a QB; money will help to bring the other pieces. We need to raise the bar with regards to talent & expectations - Clay, Z.Jones, K. Benjamin or terrible! I’m trusting the process and knew that this year would be a step backwards. Think positive, we will get better. Go Bills!

The Cowboys made a huge trade to get them to the point of success, the Bills have no one of value to trade.  Jimmy Johnson was a master mind of a coach I am not sure McD is on par with JJ.

I'm not sure what you're saying to me.

I'm stating the Bills have a truckload of FA $'s and will have to overpay to get players to come here IF they want to come at all.

I can't say it any simpler.

Are you mad that the Bills will have to do that because I'm not trilled either, it's just the way it is.

What's ridiculous about the post?  I clearly stated SERIOUS QUESTION.  So you have to go back to 84-84 for a repeat of history in 2018 yeah okay.

Well in theory they are trying to get it all put together so that we are a winning team that players will want to play for.

This year is a lot of calculated frustration.

This was worth repeating. Is anyone capable of looking beyond the end of their own nose. Today was ugly, but to me (if Josh is the guy) the future looks bright. QB is first and foremost, and this is a learning year....if he survives. Coming up is cap space and draft picks to brighten our future.

I’m not going down that Eyore path.
