he's worth 2 firsts if he's elite

that's how I look at it

Let's look at the bills:

say you took 2 drafts in a row

cj spiller + marcel dareus vs mack?

i'd take mack

(using that as an example)

You miss my FULL point. I’d pay a couple 1’s IF we could get him on a rookie deal for 5 years. If we ALSO have to pay $20 mil+/year, I lose my appetite a bit.

Only if you are picking in the 20s for the next 2 years do you consider 2 firsts. With the Bills flirting with a top 10 pick...possibly top 5 - FOR-GET-IT

If I’m the Bills here’s my offer: McCarron, a 2019 2nd and 4th and a 2020 2nd that can become a 1st (based on some unlikely criteria).

The Raiders are shopping him. That is all. Beane won't give up two 1st Round picks. I know that. I honestly believe the damage is done with Mack and Oakland will take a deal from someone. I think it ends up being a 1st and a 3rd, maybe a player thrown in. I don't expect him to be in a Raiders' uni ever again.

Beane can’t give away the 2019 1st rounder because of the likelihood of it being a top 10 pick.  Other teams will almost surely part with their 1st rounder for Mack, so unless Gruden has a thing for McCarron or Peterman, Mack won’t be coming to Buffalo.

I got your point :)

i don't disagree with your logic on it.

I think it's a close call either way :)

Maybe, unless they can get a 2020 from the Bills and more. For example what is a better offer: GB’s 1st and 3rd in 2019 or McCarron, Bills 2nd, 4th and 2020 1st or 2nd? If you think that the Bills are bad (or GB is good) you may consider it. I can’t see the Bills giving up their 2019 1st but they can still assemble a solid offer.

I can’t imagine they would give up next year’s first at this point. We have too many needs, and that pick might get you a stud  or be swapped for a basket full of picks later. We are not one player away. I’d prefer to stockpile some quality on the cheap.

Shaq Lawson was a first round pick. Give them a 1 and Shaq. That can count as 2 “first round picks” on a technicality

Corey Coleman was a 1st and we still got him for a 7th. Doesn't work that way, he's used goods.

I think draft picks in the NFL are the single most over valued thing in sports. Go back and look at our last 10 to 15 first round picks and see how many pairs of them, you wouldn’t trade straight up for Mack. It’s all moot anyway. Teams don’t think that way and this is never going to happen. A team might pull off a deal but it won’t be the Bills.

With the way the first half of the schedule looks and the given the current state of the offensive line, it could be a Top 5 pick.

My prediction is that the Jets will offer a 1st and the 3rd they got for Teddy...

I really don’t want to see the Jets get smart all of a sudden! I wish they’d hire Rex again!
