Bills' 2018 Training Camp Practice Day 9 - 2:15 PM at SJF with Zay Jones Activated

Recommended Posts

Was at training camp today. The defense completely owned the offense in all phases. I-line was getting bullied in the run and pass game.

The QBs, all 3 of them weren’t very good at all. The Peterman pick by Marlowe, Peterman was late throwing it on a deep out route and Marlowe made a great play on the ball.

The Allen pick was all on Proehl. Allen delivered a missile on a post route and Proehl didn’t even look like he was getting the ball and it fell right in borders hands. Would have been the best play by the offense by far on the day

Buffalo Bills training camp day 9: Camp is hot but QBs are cold (observations)

Pittsford, N.Y. -- The sun was blazing on the field at practice Sunday for the Buffalo Billsninth practice (eighth at St. John Fisher). The play on the field wasn't so hot, though.

After the first 11-on-11 drill, the offense huddled up for what seemed like a call to action to start playing better. Here are the observations from the day in Rochester.

Quarterbacks struggle
Josh Allen needs more first team reps
Kelvin Benjamin comments land him in hot water
Groy at center with 1s for third straight day
Vontae Davis making strides
Return game contenders

There could be an observation on Tremaine Edmunds after every practice. Today's highlight was a tipped ball, which Benjamin actually caught off the deflection. Edmunds' speed and pursuit are becoming more evident as the practices add up.

Joe B: 7 observations from 2018 Buffalo Bills training camp - Day 9

(WKBW) - After a day to recuperate from their practice at New Era Field, the Buffalo Bills reconvened on the campus of St. John Fisher College on Sunday, for their ninth session of training camp. And with the completed practice, the Bills are now past the halfway point of camp -- and it's gone by in a hurry.

The Bills saw the return of a handful of players from injury, and it changed how the Bills divvied up the reps throughout the day.

What stood out on Sunday? Seven observations from Day 9 of training camp:

1) The passing game was less than inspiring
2) Zay Jones returns (kind of)
3) The placement of Andre Holmes shows the state of the WRs
4) Proehl struggling in a big way
5) An unknown OL gets bumped up
6) McDermott drops down the depth chart
7) Edmunds shows quickness in coverage

Day 9 MVP: DE Mike Love
- The third-string undrafted rookie defensive end came down with two sacks against the first-team offense today in team drills. In limited chances, he's done pretty well, and it's helped get him on the field a bit more as camp has gone on. He's a solid practice squad option at this point.

Day 9 LVP: WR Austin Proehl
- Getting chewed out by the offensive coordinator and causing an interception of the rookie quarterback because of his mistake is a great way to earn LVP honors. He needs to turn it around, and quickly.

Up Next: Day 10 on Monday, August 6 at 8:45 am

Is Groy separating himself from Bodine?

Bodine is strictly a Center and I believe has never played guard in the NFL.

He will kind of be a waste as only a backup center and the highest paid OL on the team.

Would he dress on Sunday as only a backup center?

Interesting.

This one.

Yeah, he shouldn't even try throwing that one. Well-covered. If he does, the throw should be high and outside.

Tough day. They had to travel back to SJF and it was super hot outside. That said, there's not much hope with these guys. If they could make AJ or Nate look really good in pre-season and then deal him to a QB-needy team for an extra draft pick, I'd be totally down with that.

Was that deflected by our boy Tremaine??!??!

Holy **** just put him in the middle of the field every play and dare the QB to throw it over the middle.

Brady wont be able to hit those crossing routes with that dude in the middle.

Tremaine will either light up edelman, or cause a deflection. Either way, I cant wait to see the kid play. I sure do hope he becomes like our own Ray Lewis, AKA someone you dont want to !@#$ with.... without that whole murdering thing.
