Wait, I'm so confused,  in order to effect that, wouldn't he have had to watch the NFL telecasts that he said he's not watching because, protests?

You are absolutely confused and I can understand your confusion. You are often confused IMO and many times missing the point as you are here.

No I paid for EVERYTHING. So stand your a$$ up and honor OUR country and the men that DIED so you act a fool.

It's not Trump it's the kneeling.

Men and women died for the rights of citizens as expressed by our constitution.  There are ways to honor them that don't include the anthem or the flag or the faux nationalism.  The greatest honor to them, it would seem, is actually using the rights and living up to the ideals they represented on behalf of the United States, otherwise what did they die for?    Not a symbolic piece of fabric; not a song.  It's about the actual rights and the actual ideals the country represents or that is what we are told.

Not analogous.  No one is stopping an NFL game nor making an announcement to the audience.

No professional theatre production is stopping in the middle of a show to make a point either.  The Hamilton occurrence came after the show itself was over.

Nothing, nada, zilch, zero........I did watch the NFL Draft though.... it wasn't dedication.... it was disgust that ownership who could have solved this problem a year earlier but chose to allow this to fester and explode and let it happen... Were you at the 49ers game at Buffalo when Kaepernic came on the field and did you see what 60,000 fans did to express their opinion then?

I was at the game and stayed seated during the anthem in solidarity.  My memories of that game included many kap jerseys.  No one cares about your few hundred dollors in lost support. This isnt just another social justice issue it is the most lingering blemish in our nations history.  Black men have fought in every war since the revolution and returned home to lynchings, segregation, redlining etc.  Literally being portrayed as evil monsters since emancipation through print and film forever demonizing them in the eyes of thier fellow Americans.  You need you open you heart to your countrymen who are starved eqaulity for the strength of wolf is pack.

Also this board has been quite the cess pool of thought since the season ended.  Im losing brain cells.

No worries, B'lo, got yer back.  It's both Bills and football related, as long as that's the focus it's fine here.

If folks go nuts making it generally political, I'll move it for ya or lock it.

Let’s see how long that takes....

I’ll add the necessary gasoline. Colin Kaepernick is being blackballed...

No need to for them to quit.  They can play and make money and protest and others can complain.  And one doesn't need to "join" BLM.  The issues the players were protesting is baked into BLM's platform so they're already in, at least in regard to issues of inequality and police misconduct.

The "New Black Panthers" are not the same as the original Black Panthers who were formed in 1966 in response to... yes, you guessed it, Police Brutality.  Using California law at the time, which allowed open carry and a citizens right to observe police arrests, the Panthers did both before Governor Raegan led a change of the laws.  The Panthers also sponsored free health clinics, maintained free breakfast programs for kids in their communities and ran their own educational facilities.  But I heard to some on Fox News they were equivalent to the KKK.  Now that's a LOL.

A reason to  take break from this board. thank you. such BS.  maybe return when the season starts (and it is reagan)

Let's say you pay $100 00 to see a Broadway play and during the play a actor stops acting and tells the audience that he is vegan and eating animals is evil. Is that freedom of speech? What would you do if you were the producer?

Did the actor call a time-out first?

Let the players do something that's upsetting a significant amount of customers?

The Bills have been upsetting me for many, many years. Players, coaches, front office, ownership you name it.

After being a diehard Bills fan for many years--when the Bills players took a knee last year I immediately called Direct TV and cancelled my Sunday  Ticket and didn't attend or watch another Bills game last year. I have no interest in players (most of whom have done "nothing" in their life to earn the right to disrespect the flag and anthem provided by the blood shed for that freedom) use the stage to protest anything. I am one of those who hurt the NFL business in my disgust by stopping my payments for fan gear, tickets, etc. I am hoping the protests end so I can return to paying my hundreds of dollars this year to the Buffalo Bill coffers. If they adopt the Jets owner's lead they will save me a lot of money again this year. Whats next? So when 1500 players want to protest 1500 different social causes  you want the NFL ownership to support ALL of  those Player's causes too, and shove that down a $200.00 ticket payer 10 times? Provide them another venue if you wish but not one I am paying hundreds to watch.

Most players did not kneel. So in a way you punished them for the actions of a few.  In realty kneeling or standing makes no difference in a veterans life. Sort of like you.

The Anthem is part of the experience. SJW need to stay home, not on my $100.00. After the game protest all you want. If they care soon deeply for their cause, LOL, maybe they should quit and join the black panthers or BLM.

Maybe you should actually make an impact In a veterans life instead of complaining about  what grown men do respectfully.  It’s all in your head. No one is disrespecting anyone.

No that's not it ?

I would prefer if their issue was what was debated and not the politicized kneel no kneel thing. Players as citizens should have the right to protest. This country and it's Freedoms that have been fought for and won allow us people the right to peaceful protest.

They do have the right to protest. Thst right was never taken away. They have the right to do it by staying in the locker room.

At your job you have to follow the guidlines set by your employer. They are paying you. You don't run sh*t, they run sh*t. They may listen to the concerns of the employees if they halfway give a sh*t. But when it is all said and done, they still run sh*t and will dictate to you how the sh*t will be run. If you don't agree then you can go look for employment elsewhere and they won't give a sh*t.

NYC Politician Would Like to Pander to Voters

Anyway, as others have stated, players are free to come to work and protest.  They will just have to pay a fine.

What this politician leaves out is that, in his city, if 20 or more people want to protest in a city park or in the street, they need a permit or they will be fined.

Interesting.  I did not know that.
