Smokescreen. I think they are trying to boost the trade value if their pick at 5. The early reports of them being out of a QB at 5 when the Keenum deal was announced quickly shifted to them loving a QB. Broncos want to make a run now, I think they'd move down.

Agreed

Elway is on record of saying he'll keep swinging to get the right guy at QB.  I don't believe Keenum is that guy for their long term.

And Keenum offers them time. Especially if they still believe in Lynch (not sure why, he’s awful).

Not taking a QB at 5 is a very distinct possibility.

I think they want Allen. I think Darnold is going 1, Rosen is going 2, Allen 3, and Mayfield 5.

The question for me is, who is actually going to take Rosen at 2?

Spot on.  This is my take too.  Either the Giants are taking Rosen or they are selling the pick for a return that'll make the Jets return look like child's play.  I also wouldn't put it past Denver to give Cleveland a pick or two to flop 4 and 5.  Browns walk out of the draft with the top QB and top position player.

The gun is to Beane's head now.  Are they willing to trade #12 / #22 / #53 / #56 / #65 / and probably a 1st or 2nd in 2019 for the #2 QB, or are they going to risk their jobs on McCarron / Peterman / a QB picked later?

I would like to thank the Jets for tipping there hand that they want Rosen and for also leaving Buffalo the chance to land Baker Mayfield without having to trade up into the top 4 to get him.

You need to look at what Denver has plans to do...he will be a Bronco.

The only thing I'm sure of at this point is that all of Darnold/Rosen/Allen will be gone in the top 5

Allen is losing stock by the day..he could very well be there at 12.He is not NFL ready..McCarron in 18..Allen in '19? Wouldn't be shocked...

There playing there cards. Of course the 2yr deal for Keenum is there longterm plan.

Lol. I didn't say he was their long-term plan. I just think they gave him more than backup money to hold the fort for 2 years, hence removing them from 1st rd QB market. They paid for a starter, so they can upgrade the rest of the roster that is not too far removed from a SuperBowl
