Anybody else getting the feeling that this was all part of Beane's plan?

I'm not worried about it. Worst case scenario we don't get a qb in the top 5 this year, I still feel like McCarron is gonna beat out any qb we could draft this year. I still think the bills will do whatever they can to move up, but at the end of the day, I think McCarron is our starting qb this season.

The biggest hope we have is that Gettleman told the Jets that the second overall pick has been sold already.

That's kind of where I was going with this thread. What if Beane and Gettleman already have a deal agreed to, but are just waiting to submit the paperwork/announce it until a bunch of teams start pulling stuff like this?

Best case scenario is Bills fall in love with Mason Rudolph and, as many people do, have him as one the top 2-3 QB's in the draft.  If that ends up being the case, they can still get a light blue chip player along with their QB and cash in those 2nd's and 3rd's as well.  I'd be thrilled.

I just doubt the Colts made the move without Beane having a chance to beat the offer.

He didnt match it and he has to have a good reason for it. Let's see how it shakes out.

Exactly.  There is a 0% chance that the Bills did not have a chance to beat this offer.  Either a) it was too rich for the Bills' blood and they might just stay at 12 or move up to like 7 on draft day or b) they knew that by moving to 3, the Jets could then simply throw in next year's first and move up to 2.  By the Jets even being involved, it essentially ensured that QB's are now going to go 1-2-3.  Unless you love three of the QB's about the same (which the Jets have to), getting to 3 is almost pointless at this point.

I don’t see that as plausible at all.  I am sure the Jets tried to trade with the Giants and it appears that the Giants want to stay put - or- would trade out only for an unreasonable amount.

This is what I was talking about when I said the Bills “draft capital” wasn’t all that much better than the Jets’ or Broncos’.

At this point, I would expect Darnold, Rosen and either Allen or Mayfield to be gone in the first 5 or 6 picks.  If the Bills can’t get up to take Mayfield, I think they will look for Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph, perhaps moving up a bit from 22 for one of them.  Unlike many here, I think Rudolph is a good prospect.

I find it funny that the Bills fans are fearing something the Jets front office. This is the team that gave up the farm to get Mark Sanchez. That only just recently, only in the last few weeks, screwed up the QB negotiations for Kirk Cousins. Now they've way, way, way overpaid to go from 6 to 3, and left the door open for Denver to go from 5 to 2. Which, mark my words, they will do.

The Jets freaking invented the clown car so they could get to the Meadowlands together. I'm sure as heck glad we've got Beane running the show here.

It doesn't matter what the Jets did. We have the luxury of possibly finding 5 starters in the first 65 picks. We can stay at 12 and 22 and still fill two needs and get two LB's to shore up the D. IMO we are in prime position to stay where we at fill all our needs and grab a Lauletta or White in the 2nd.

I could live with that plan, too.

So in this theory, Beane has some weird obsession with taking out the jets?

He made all these moves, obviously gave out intentions to get into the top 3, all to derail the Jets?

God I hope not... It would show some signs of great mental instability and understanding of the league, because the Jets have been awful.

How do you know all those moves were made so we could move up to #2 or # 3 ?

Because you watch  ESPN ?
