Why do you guys keep bringing up price as one reason to be cool with a football player, as if you're the one's cutting the checks?

I mean, I understand it if your neighbor bought a car and  you think "That's a nice car, but I wouldn't pay $xxxxx for it." Because, y'know, you're gonna buy a car of your own one day.

But pretty much no one here is going to drop $20M on a quarterback, and to somehow think you'll be okay with the pick as long as the team didn't overpay makes absolutely, positively no sense at all.

It's just the weirdest thing to discuss.

Salary cap?

Yeah smart lets use the developmental QB as a WR and RB instead of you know actually developing as a QB and hos Mechanics which he greatly needs

They'd be foolish not to include Jackson in special packages to create mismatches especially in close to the end zone.

Because the less money spent on a newly-acquired player, the more money available to potentially sign another player that can help the team.

If you're the owner, sure. We're fans. What are we going to do? Stop cheering for the Bills because the owner didn't know how to budget his billions?

When I watch that highlight film I'm like "D*mmm, need someone like 82, 18, 12 who can haul those things in (that would be Jones, AJ Green, and Sanu)

Suddenly Terrelle Pryor seems like a better fit than Martavis Bryant.............Dalton and McCarron been throwing deep balls up for grabs to AJ Green in practice and games for years..........need a big, physical deep threat. (And no KB is too slow, folks).

See we theres this thing called the salary cap.  Each contract takes up a portion of it. So if you spend 20m on a guy that’s not very good, its a problem being able to afford guys that are actually contributing.

I don’t care about the check, but the percentage of cap. If teams could only spend $1m for the roster I’d worry about $1000 here and there instead of a couple million here and there.

Limited resources.. money to spend other places? If your neighbor needed a new roof but spent $40,000 on a 1971 Pinto you would probably discuss with anyone who would listen.

But it's not my roof and it's not my Pinto. It's my neighbors. Am I going to stop hanging out with my neighbor because he buys a Pinto?

Well, yes, but it has nothing to do with his need for a roof.

Have you seen an empty stadium late season? That’s the lack of enthusiasm that poor asset allocation creates. So, yes, many fans will stop cheering if we give out tons of dumb deals.

I think they were waiting to see who didn't have a chair when the music stopped. If Teddy B was left standing I think the Bills might have gone there and he'd have signed for much less too.

Great job of not panicking and.... you guessed it... TRUSTING THE PROCESS!!!

Yeah I think they weren't willing to overpay for any of the free agent QBs.

Maybe Bridgewater picked the Jets over the Bills, or they offered better contract incentives? Seems like a very similar deals. Bridgewater signed a 1 year deal that has a base salary of $5M and is worth up to $15M.

Although he signed after McCown did, and McCown was told he would be starting, so you'd think Bridgewater would've had a better shot at starting here. Which is the one thing that makes me wonder if maybe we weren't interested in him...

edit - I guess the deal with the Jets is potentially worth more. I was thinking McCarron was on a 1 year deal worth a possible $16.5M, but it's a 2 year deal. So Bridgewater can potentially make in 1 year what McCarron can potentially make in 2 yrs.

So go over the cap! Who the hell cares? The Eagles are over the cap, and that trophy still looks pretty good.

None of the other guys, many who got a lot more money, are any good either.

I didn't really want any of them. I want a backup and not a bridge. That contract is dirt, dirt cheap though. Like in most anything, follow the money. He didn't get much play, respect, or cash. And it's because he stinks. ;) But we just want him to hold a clipboard, or at least a surface tablet.

I don’t disagree with any of it but the long range throws. He has elite arm talent. Rosen certainly has his flaws. I was just taking issue with the complaints about his arm. Durability, dedication, etc... are all worthy of skepticism.

Ok, well I think Rosen would be a good QB too. I don't think the Bills can lose. I would prefer Allen, but I'd welcome Rosen.

Nobody is giving out tons of dumb deals. In fact, this team is pretty flush. And again, it's not our money. Spend too much? Go over the cap. Who cares? Literally no one.
