My wife and I just binge watched all 7 episodes in 24 hours. The kid's Mom and especially the old dude who swears at everyone including little kids is cracking us up! It's not as good as Ted Lasso but it's same genre and ballpark 2 Quote

Like I said, I think it’s a decent show. Got some laughs. I watched E7 last night. Maybe the episodes are too short? I don’t know. I agree it’s kind of the same genre as Ted Lasso, but not nearly as good, IMO. I’ll continue to watch it, but it’s not something that I really look forward to. To each his/her own I suppose. 🤷🏾♂️ 1 Quote

My wife has the attention span of a gnat so when it comes to movies or TV series if they don't hook her right away, she's out. 1 Quote

Definitely enjoyed Timothy Olyphant’s portrayal as the “Shooter McGavin” of the series … definitely not Ted Lasso but certainly enjoyable light summer viewing fare 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Me and the wife have been watching some reality game shows of late. Netflix's Devil's Plan is interesting to say the least. It's funny watching another culture (Korea) dealing with having to be underhanded etc. compared to what see from Americans. Toss in the brains on these people are amazing as the games they have to play are whoa. Destination X on Peacock is also fun but a tad more easier in some sense although the latest episode was a bit of a surprise. Ending a surprise and be sure to stay through surprise cut scene. Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Has anyone watched the horror movie Barbarian on Netflix? I watched it last night and enjoyed it, but it wasn’t really what I expected. I’d be interested to hear others’ thoughts. I’m looking forward to seeing Weapons in the theatre. 1 Quote

Yes, love a weird leaning horror movie. Have you checked out “Companion” by the same director? Very watchable movie. I’m also looking forward to Weapons. 1 Quote
Bad Things Posted August 8 Posted August 8 We watch Happy Gilmore 2 last night and thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. I wish someone would've warned me that Travis Kelce is in it. Horrible! 2 Quote

Yeah, Barbarian was more creepy than scary to me. I thought we were going down a completely different worm hole after she found the first room in the hidden hallway. Then it turned into something that I couldn’t quite wrap my brain around. 😂 LongLegs is another one I watched recently and really enjoyed. Edited August 8 by Johnny Hammersticks Quote

SinceThe70s Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Just watched ESPN's E60: Southpaw - The Life & Legacy of Jim Abbott One of the great sports stories of my lifetime. Saw him pitch once and it was mind boggling. 1 Quote
Metal Man Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Really enjoyed the Billy Joel doc on HBO Max. Lots of ups and downs in his life that I really didn't know anything about. 2 Quote

It wasn't horribly scary more just shocking at what I just saw. It definitely took turns one wouldn't expect but think the writer/director was purposely doing a misdirect. LongLegs was just weird, yeah Nicholas Cage's role was creepy but again nothing too scary more just disturbing stuff. Maybe I'm desensitized since been watching horror for 40 years or so (started watching at around 8 years old). Fall to me was far scarier than the previously mentioned films and felt it was well done. 1 Quote
Mr Info Posted August 21 Posted August 21 (edited) Recommend “The Yogurt Shop Murders” documentary on HBO. It’s 4 episodes. Grisly murders that are still unsolved. Inept investigation and protocol that have haunted the victims and accused families and destroyed the accused lives. Edited August 22 by Mr Info 1 1 Quote

I honestly haven’t watched a “scary” horror movie since The Exorcist 3 which I consider to be one of the scariest of all time. I thought LongLegs was an awesome movie though. Yes, Nick Cage’s character was super, super creepy. I suppose the horror movies that really interest me are the ones with satanic/occult themes. Not sure why bc I’m not a religious person, but those are the ones that really captivate my interest and leave a lasting impression. Quote

Saw him pitch once and it was mind boggling. Early in our marriage I took my wife to Toronto to see a buddy and experience the city. We did drinks at the CN tower, live music by people he knew around town and then we went to the Skydome to see Jim Abbott pitch. I was stunned seeing it live. How the….. 🤷♂️ At some point I got up to tour the stadium and grab beers. When I returned the dome was closed. I think it was witches! Silent and swift, they were! This was about a week after some couple in the attached hotel mistakenly (or not?) assumed their room window looking down onto the field did not provide a clear view into their room, and what they were doing. No one way glass there. We missed that exact night, but my buddy still had his newspaper with the photos they included. Pretty loose about that stuff up in our attic (Kathleen Madigan reference) compared to here. After the game we did bars and parties until the sun came up. Jim Abbott was an important part of the longest 24 hours of my life! 🤣 1 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Started watching the Dallas Cowboys docuseries on Netflix. Two episodes in and it's very good. I know I'm going to need a box of tissues to watch the next episodes coming up when they show a couple particular Super Bowls but that was my favorite era in the NFL and this feels like a Last Dance quality series so far. Highly recommend if your a fan of NFL history Quote
Another Fan Posted August 23 Posted August 23 No Good Deed with Ray Romano, Lisa Kudrow, and Linda Cardellini...... aah was all right. not great but decent enough I finished it Quote
