Nobody but it didn't help Billy Bush.  I don't know how the relationship was between Franken and the first accuser and maybe he really thought the photo would be funny to both him and the first accuser.  I doubt it, but I don't know.  Both the photo and tape lend me to believe both are guilty of at least some of the charges against them.  I can't prove either, but I'm not going to give Trump a pass because the Clinton's and the media are corrupt scumbags.

It's funny that you're willing to be as open minded as humanly possible with Franken but with Trump you've pretty much written him off as guilty with no supporting evidence.

If there was anything to these accusations against Trump, don't you think the media would be all over it? Are you really claiming that the news media that has tirelessly campaigned against this guy with every piece of **** scandal they could drum up for the last 2+ years is covering for him on the one scandal that actually could destroy him?

Doc is the only lib with a brain on here, but he has his limits on sanity, as we all doobeedoobeedoooooooooooooo..............

the Trump Derangement Syndrome is about 1/3 of what it was for Nixon and just a tad lower than for Reagan.

Reagan foretold and put the country into a deep and bad recession that many areas never recovered from, so there was something to grumble about

Because Trump has gotten tons of tail, and Franken is ugly.

Trump's clip sounds like a guy playfully (if tastelessly) exaggerating how easy it is for a famous, incredibly wealthy, good looking guy to pick up women. He has a long history of being with beautiful women, and his actions come across as an arrogant douchebag boasting (which he obviously is). Trump's personality doesn't strike me as the type that forces himself on women against their will, but rather as someone who would revel in dismissing a woman that had spurned his advance. He would probably just "grab" the women's best friend instead, as a petty revenge.

Trump has needed to reject women and advances from them, for most of his life.

Like, there are too many for him to deal with.

Like, he's had to sift through the abundance of his surroundings, evading gold diggers, plotters, and opportunists as best he can, to decide which of the beautiful women availing themselves to him, are worth the time (and risk) to have sex with.

Franken on the other hand...his actions are familiar to anyone that knows not so attractive, sexually awkward males that might get creepy when they attain a position with a little power. According to the woman, she pointedly rejected Franken's advances and he persisted, then later took the "pretending to grope a sleeping woman" photo. Franken comes across as a weak, desperate nerd (which he probably is).

Franken...well, I doubt he's had to reject many beautiful women's advances.

And if you are honest with yourself, and stop the hand-wringing over Trump, and stop trying to dream up reasons and excuses why Trump shouldn't be president, you will admit that you understand the differences between the two men, the very different situations, and the sexual marketplace dynamics at play.

And no, I don't think Franken should resign.

I never said Trump shouldn't be president and never gave any excuses for a horrible Democratic party who blew the election because of their arrogance and corruption.  The Russia narrative is complete bull crap, but I can't say the same for the sexual allegations against him.  I was open minded with both scandals which is why I looked at each individual accusation against Trump and Franken.  I find a few Trump accusers credible given the specificity of their allegations and I believe all of the Franken accusers who have come out so far.  I just wanted to know why you found Trump innocent of any wrongdoing and thanks for finally answering my question.

Basically, your argument is that the sexual allegations against Trump before he ran for president can be written off because he was a rich real estate tycoon and reality tv star who had to fight off gold digging women his whole life (including his first wife saying he raped her in a rage of anger during the divorce).  The allegations during the campaign were all made up (despite eye witnesses backing them up their claims) because they were in cahoots with the Clinton campaign and the media along with being gold diggers.  You think they'd have more concrete evidence at this point if Trump was guilty.  The tape was basically Trump trying to impress Billy Bush which is plausible given Trump's personality.  I would also say it's plausible that Franken thought the picture was a tasteless joke given his history of him being an unfunny comedian.  I just don't buy either explanation.

I find rape claims from ex-wives extremely suspect.

I call Trump scumbag. Boy, if Hillary can get Trump to melt down during the debates wait to Liz tears into his stupid arse!

Looks like the Republicans will welcome a child molester into the Senate. Does THIS make Republicans bad for America?

What, is she going to have her shaman curse him? Burn him at the stake? Maybe just her usual hatchet job, eh?

Maybe Lieawatha will utilize her Indian heritage and scalp him mid-debate.

AP: AL FRANKEN “ASHAMED AMID GROPING CLAIMS…BUT LOOKS FORWARD TO RETURNING TO WORK ON MONDAY AND GRADUALLY REGAINING VOTERS’ TRUST.”

Except Al Franken doesn’t feel shame:

Recall what Franken said in his “Giant of the Senate” book (Yes really, thats what he called it) about apologizing about making rape jokes (if you can call them that) about Lesley Stahl. Franken admitted that he faked the apology in order to win election to the Senate. He wrote:

To say I was sorry for writing a joke was to sell out my career, to sell out who I’d been my entire life. And I wasn’t sorry that I had written Porn-o-Rama or pitched that stupid Lesley Stahl joke at 2 in the morning. I was just doing my job.

I learned that campaigns have their own rules, their own laws of physics, and that if I wasn’t willing to accept that, I would never get to be a senator.

How do you suppose Franken really feels about attending the Minnesota State Fair and posing for pictures with the masses, most of whom are not pretty young women? I assume he considers it tacky –“a sell out” of “who he’d been his entire life.”

Exit question: Why is No One Talking About the Fact that Al Franken is Married?

(Hint: party)

Good God, you're a Masochist ......

He just IS.....okay.

Back to the thread.............

SERIOUSLY!? Al Franken’s answer to groping question is ‘beyond ridiculous’

DPpJnp-WAAA3Kpa.jpg

Finally, a politician who can give a simple “yes” or “no” answer! Oh, wait, maybe not.

Have you groped women?
AF: "I can't say I haven't done that."
So you have?
"Can't say I haven't."
So you have.
"I didn't say that."

"It's hard to recall all the asses I've grabbed, now excuse me I need to get back to the Senate"

"I'm sorry if these women have experienced the thing that I did."

Al Franken: I can’t say that my hand hasn’t been on any asses

He’s really going with the spin that three different women felt his hands on their butts purely accidentally, huh? Accuser Lindsay Menz said Franken’s hand “was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek.” The first anonymous accuser who spoke to HuffPost claimed “He grabbed my buttocks during a photo op.” The second anonymous accuser alleged that Franken “cupped my butt” and then, when she excused herself to go to the bathroom, he supposedly leaned in and asked if he could go with her.

Thanks democrats.....................welcome to Senator Moore

Enough to know I wouldn't vote for him. Obviously you are ok with him though. Keep defending garbage like that

So tell us, oh descendant of German Nazi Confederate rapers of the North American continent, just how many slaves did they hold, and how many of the females were sexually assaulted and abused by them?

Tell us how you as a privileged white person have benefited from the toil of their labors that gave your Nazi white supremacist ancestors ease.

If the South had won the Civil War and your family were still living there, would you sexually abuse the women and bullwhip the men when they got “uppity” like your direct forebears did?

Just curious.

Now there you go again, comparing Gator with Nazis. Do you really think that the Nazis deserve that kind of insult?

I'd point out that Jennings was a heavy smoker who died of lung cancer, but I'm pretty sure that exchange would go something along the lines of Sydney Poitier's and Dan Akroyd's in Sneakers:

"Are you saying the CIA caused the Managua earthquake?"

"Well, I can't prove it, but..."

Love that scene.

And I don't at all believe Jenning's death was related to this interview. Was just tweaking some noses.

The whole movie's great.  Very underrated.  And Akroyd's a gem in that movie...probably because he personally believes every conspiracy his character spouts.

One day I'll tell about the night I had a drink with him... you ain't lying.

(don't mean to hijack - just posting this for those Akroyd fans who are curious)

Cosmo was preaching the truth with that ‘who controls the information’ speech at the end.

Terrific cast all around.
