Again, how can a switch to Peterman be any worse?

Taylor is Trent Edwards with mobility and anytime he's forced to make a tough NFL throw or come back and lead a team to victory he either throws an INT or the pass is wildly inaccurate. Same reason why some of Taylor's stats have always been misleading just like with Edwards and similar players.

I have nothing against the guy but it's only a matter of time before he loses the lockerroom, especially the defense because guys are going to stop playing hard when they know the QB can't throw for more than 150 yards a game and the offense averaging 10 points a game. It's not sustainable even with the 86 Bears or 00 Ravens type of defense.

Sure switching to Peterman will likely piss some veterans off and create other issues (i.e. rookie mistakes) but the guy is simply better equipped to run this style of offense by default because he's a true QB and not an 'athlete' or RB playing QB.

Ok that never happens. Guys don't stop playing on defense or offense when the other side of the ball is not doing well. There are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL and only a few are such salary cap killers that a player can not be cut. These guys are playing every week for the next contract with the team they are on or another team.

Can we re-draft and start Watson after the bye.

White is already a better player than Watson. Add another first round pick and it's not close. I may look ridiculous saying that by season's end but so far they have an elite CB and an extra first round pick. I'm ok with that

At this point, what has tyrod taylor shown you that you don't think Peterman could go out there and do?

I think Peterman could go out there in his first start and pass for 190 and a TD.

I would see what it would take to get AJ McCarron, I think this is his last year and the Bengals are not going to franchise him. I would trade a 3rd and 6th rd pick for him.

Of course cause you know a win against Tampa does so much for you when you drop games to teams in the AFC that you need to beat for the chance at the playoffs

You mean beating teams like the Broncos who will likely be a bigger threat for the wild card then the Bengals? Do you think Peterman puts up the best QB rating against a Broncos defense in four years like Taylor did? We were never going 12-0 in conference. RELAX.

Like I have said before Monday night football with the Bears starting Trubisky will be a good game for us to watch.

Bears WR's are worse than ours.

Bears O-Line is worse than ours.

Glennon missing wide open WR's and throwing off target passes. Fans blaming Horrid offense and zero weapons on offense for Glennon's horrid play.

The Bears insert Trubisky in a no talent offense, no WR's no impact players bad O-line. The big what if, what if Trubisky elevates the play of his no talent offense and passes for 250 and 2 scores in his first game and it's on Monday night football.

Taylor will never get this team to the playoffs. He would need so much talent that the cap would not allow it.

Are you trying to say Peterman could do the same should Turbitzky look good?

Turbitzky was a first round prospect. Peterman never was. Turbitzky looked good in the pre-season. Peterman looked average at best for a rookie and that was mostly against third stringers and guys currently not on rosters.

The point is , it couldn't be much worse with Peterman. Tyrod is so inconsistent. The only thing he is consistent at is throwing for 180 yards per game. I'll bet when the all 22 comes out Tuesday we'll see plenty of plays that didn't get made

Do you have ANY idea how many times I've seen people here say "It couldn't be much worse with _____?"

It can ALWAYS be worse.

Tyrod has 1 int in 5 games.

A switch to Peterman will be far worse when it comes to turn overs. How people don't realize that amazes me.

Do you realize that Tyrod's low INT rate is a result of his total hesitancy/reluctance to throw the ball?

And if he threw more consistently he might have a few more turnovers, but they might be superseded by much greater offense?

The 2 go together. When you are as hesitant to throw as Tyrod is, the fact that he has a low INT rate isn't as beneficial as it should be...

The guy is paid to sling the ball. Sling it. If a few get picked, so be it.

Jim Kelly threw bad interceptions all the time b/c he had such confidence in his ability and he was slinging it like a maniac all the time...

So a few get away. Who cares....if you are a decent QB.

Not going to happen and shouldn't.

Sometime during the season probably when the team is out of contention it is probable that the HC is going to give Peterman a look. It would be foolish not to give him an opportunity to play in order to get an assessment of him. At this point the staff knows exactly what they have in TT. So if there is nothing at stake from a playoff standpoint why wouldn't they give Peterman the ball?

McD needs to get together with Beane. If they think Tyrod can get them to the playoffs they need to stick with him. If they think he most likely can't, bench him now. Every game we win is hurting our draft stock. It would be a shame if we went 7-9 or even 9-7 and miss out on one of the QBs in the first or have to give up a bunch of picks.

I personally say go with Peterman. Find out what he has and if he sucks it's ultimately a long term victory for us. I gotta imagine McBeane will stick with Tyrod though
