Ranking the Starting QB's Since Kelly

Back in the day, someone ran his record and stats against teams with winning records. You'd expect the numbers to be worse, but his were off-the-charts brutal.

Bledsoe is such a weird case to me though. He is like the only guy in the drought era that we still think highly of that wasn't very good. Usually we are pretty good at criticizing Taylor, Fitz, Orton, Flutie and then those other bums that couldn't play. We remember Bledsoe to be a much better player than he was in Buffalo because of that hot start he got off too. In general he was a bad player by the time that he got there and still cost us a 1st. They threw a parade for the guy!! Edited by Kirby Jackson

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Doug Flutie

Trent Edwards

Kyle Orton

Tyrod Taylor

Fitz and Trent each had big hits and they weren't the same after. Can I qualify my order by saying I am ranking them before the big hits? Trent probably would have sat out quite a few games with the current concussion rules.

I notice that many people have picked Flutie but nobody has picked Johnson.

I never understood the hype for Bledsoe. He used to clomp around in the backfield as if he was wearing deep sea diving weighted shoes. Like Cuba Gooding, Jr. in Men of Honor.

The 2003 season is still by far my most hated of the drought-era, only eclipsed by the Steelers game in 2004. I couldn't stand him with the Pats, and wasn't happy about the trade bringing him here at all. His 1st 8 games here don't come close to making up for the next 2-1/2 years.

Cassel never started for the Bills. In fact he never even took a regular season snap

Didn't Cassel actually come out as the starter for one play, then Tyrod replaced him? He was the designated hard count guy or something before we go hard count specialist EJ up to the task.

EDIT: remember Field of Dreams and "Moonlight Graham?" The guy in the baseball encyclopedia who played 1 game, coming in as a defensive sub for one inning and never coming to the plate. Matt Cassel was never given the chance to screw up, hence he is pretty high on this list ... Cassel's starting QB record as a Bill: 1-0. Perfection.

Brady

Bledsoe

Grogan

Eason

Well ... true, but isn't it kind of like the opposite of the "other than that, Mrs. Lincoln enjoyed the play?" I mean, the GOAT (no, I don't enjoy saying that) and a Pro Bowler/Super Bowl starting QB spanning the last quarter century and all that ...

Probably because his 2002 season with Moulds and Price was the last time the Bills had something resembling an NFL passing attack.

Taylor

Fitz

Bledsoe

Orton

I beg you guys to go back and look at Bledsoe's Bills tenure after the 1st half of the 1st year. He was AWFUL. We remember his tenure way more fondly than we should.

Yep, I traded him and Moulds as a package that year in fantasy. It was like I was Nostradamus.:bag:

Flutie has to be number 1 - he was the last to lead this mess to the post season.

Nah, the Bills teams he played on had the best defenses on that list by far. The Orton team with Schwartz D was pretty good too. Flutie also had some craptastic games during those seasons. Home vs Giants in '99 comes to mind

How did Gibran Hamden not make this list? lol

The Chroise should be on there.

I thought this would be a fun topic to banter about. How would you rank the starting QB's we have had since Jimbo retired? Boy, is this list cringe worthy...

Todd Collins

Alex Van Pelt
Doug Flutie
Rob Johnson
Drew Bledsoe
JP Losman
Kelly Holcomb
Trent Edwards
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Brian Brohm
EJ Manuel
Thad Lewis
Jeff Tuel
Kyle Orton
Matt Cassel
Tyrod Taylor

I would say my top 5 would be: Bledsoe, Fitz, Tyrod, Flutie, Trent

Bottom of the barrel: Brohm, Tuel, Cassel

GO BILLS!!!

What an awful list!

Top five for me: Flutie, Bledsoe, Tyrod, Fitz, Van Pelt(?)

Bottom: Brohm, Tuel, Collins

Absolutely most hated: Johnson

Flutie has to be number 1 - he was the last to lead this mess to the post season.

I agree, he gave the team hope
