Game of Thrones: Season 7

I just dont want Dany to lose another dragon fighting with the now bad ice dragon.

Why am I so concerned for the dragon's safety? Am I about to start a new cult now that others have taken the leadership of the COT?

It's tough. I think to level the playing field, (which I think already is a stretch considering how broken the Night King already is) a dragon HAD to die. I mean, what's sicker than ice zombies v dragons than ICE ZOMBIE DRAGONS V DRAGONS?

Even though Khaleesi still has the dragonvantage (sorry, had to), I still don't see how team pulse makes it out on top in 6 episodes. The dead are at least 100,000 and climbing, and you've only got 2 armies committed to the cause.

Could The Kingslayer himself use his Valyrian steel to take out the Night King? Could he be Azor Ahai all along? It seems like Jamie's gone full good guy and leaving his sister for good. We'll see if he it makes to the North alive.

Despite some pacing/clumsy issues with this season, is there really any debate we've lived the greatest television event in history? What tops this damn show?

Nobody really believes Cersei is pregnant, right? Seems an obvious ploy to try and keep Jamie in the fold.

The prophesy was that she'd have three kids, and all three would die.

Either she's lying, or she dies before she can give birth.

I still think the whole "a higher level ice guy dies and several die right along with it" is going to come into play here.......I envision the good armies getting their buts kicked then someone takes out the main ice dude and the whole undead army just collapses.

That would go hand and hand with viewers hearing about the wall for 6 seasons and then having it shredded in less than a minute from some ice breathing snow melting dragon. Winter is coming! Then Snow/Arya/Jamie go rogue and land a killing blow on bad boss and all the bad guys die. Sounds like a bad ending.

Have Dany burn down all the rubbish with her dragons, let them swing a few swords against night king, then have cersei and company flip the script and attack the northerners and make it an absolute blood bath. The only thing that remains is Tyrion, a room full of hookers, and of course Briene and the Hound. They shall restart civilization with lots of amazing amazon style sex.

Too much exegetic dialogue. Forced interactions. Wasted what could have been a great scene with Jon Snow/Theon.

And a no dick/balls punchline for the kicker. I was pretty disappointed TBH.

Meh.

The Greyjoys are in my opinion the most useless House and most useless storyline in the entire plot.

Why should I root for yet another Theon redemption arc? What's the point of them at all? They serve no purpose, other than to ferry a few dozen thousand soldiers over the Narrow Sea to add to the Night King's roster.

Perhaps to stop many of Euron's ships from arriving from Essos? Also, thinking ahead to the show's end point, Yara is the only ruler of the Iron Islands that makes sense.

Alrighty, we've got a year to spout wild theories, sooo, why wait? I think whether it's the books or the series writers, the prophecies have to pay off, or we've been wasting a lot of time. So, we need The Prince that was Promised. They have finally confirmed that Jon is Prince Aegon, so I'm going with him. Cersei needs to fear the little brother. I'm going to throw a wild card out there and say the Hound kills Cersei incidentally to trying to kill the Mountain. No kids for Dany, but one of the dragons turns out to be female and lays three eggs before all three dragons go down in the final battles. Tyrion sits on the Iron throne having been revealed a Targ, with Varys his hand. Dany dies, Jon/Aegon dies. Jaime dies. Bronn lives. Arya disappears, nobody knows if she's alive or dead. Does Cersei use some Iron Bank cash to hire a faceless man? Seems like we need Jaquen H'gar to put in a final appearance. I forgot how many characters are still alive and need story lines wrapped up.

I don't see Tyrion and Cersei ever working together as they've hated each other guts since childhood. I think Tyrion had his mind more on an heir to Dany explaining why he looked conflicted knowing Jon and her were having sex. Either that or he knows his sister well enough that she won't send her troops North like she agreed on and feels guilty in making Jon and Dany believe that.

Hard to guess what was going on inside his mind. He could have at least smiled to see Dany happy for a bit.

that worked so well. Jamie's gone

Littlefinger pays her a visit.

that was awesome, the captain thinking kicking Theon in the nads would work, then try it 3 more times? whatta dumbass

I'll bet Dany is pregnant before they got to Winterfell.

As foretold Melisandre returns - but for what purpose??

Good finish.

I was correct a few pages back on the sisters playing out Mayor Tommy Carcetti's plot to turn against themselves. Never plot to tear sisters apart....

the failed nutcracking didn't work but GAVE HIM STRENGTH like Popeye eating spinch....

My consideration was if he stayed behind to get his moment with his brother. He has always been practical, and not prone to take on a suicide mission, but the show seems to be increasingly ham handedly queuing up the resolution points we have been anticipating.

As an aside, this feels like regression from a well-thought-out web of circumstance and motivation (Martin), to typical high-budget pop culture entertainment.

I loved the moment between Brienne and the Hound, talking about Arya. Did I imagine him grinning like a proud pappa?

Re Bronn: Cersei's deception doesn't work if the Lannister forces don't act like they are joining the Great War. Bronn will be intermixed with the combined armies when (if) Cersei brings the Golden Company to attack their rear. I have no doubt how Bronn would react, but I think there is also no way any of that happens before Jaimie gets to him... unless of course he is eaten by a large pack of wolves mid-continent.

Again bitching about expedience, why on earth would Cersei tell Jaimie her plan and let him ride away? Is Jaimie, and her love of family her fatal weakness?

I strongly suspect the books will be completely different at this point and moving forward.

And restating a guess I made up-thread: I think Daario shows up next season with the Essos sell-swords.

That seems to be the case and something I was afraid of as this show gained in popularity and they starting writing without the benefits of Martin's source material. I felt like this season they were too concise in both the screenplay and in the editing room in order to get the story moving at a rapid pace. I said this before but they could of easily done 10 episodes with more dialogue and that would fixed a lot of the timeline problems.

The Hound shined in last nights episode like he usually does. The way he hesitated when unleashing the wight, how he showed concern for Arya despite her leaving him to die, and confronting his brother. I also don't know why Cersei let Jaime go. Her plan of just letting everyone else and the Night King's army duke it out hoping they'd cause enough damage for the winner to have the Lannister army finish them off is evil, but a decent plan. I don't think Jaime informing Dany/Jon of her plan does anything significant though.

Disagree with the first point. With all the characters coming together against the real enemy, those interactions aren't forced and are exactly what I want to see.

That fight with Theon was really dumb. I cringed.

Not in terms of the war, but for Jaime's character arc, it's a doozy. If he's headed for Winterfell, he get's to deal with Bran, who would know how he fell now. Or Dany, who's father he stabbed. Basically he went from the first episode being a serious villain to possibly doing something heroic in the final season. He's going to sacrifice his life to save the cause somehow.

Does anyone find it problematic that the huge three-episode-spanning plan to capture a zombie and bring it to Cersei, which lost them a dragon and almost got 90% of the show's cast killed (not to mention tore a giant hole in the Westerosi spacetime continuum), was based on the premise that it was the only way she'd believe they were under threat from an army of the dead...despite the fact that she has a zombie as a bodyguard 24/7???

Good point and be could of sacrificed his own life to save the cause by slitting Cersei's throat last night.

It was Aegon. It's a popular Targaryen name as Aegon the conqueror built the iron throne after conquering Westeros.

Yeah, just read that Raeghar named two sons Aegon, in order to ensure that the prophecy was fulfilled.
