First of all they keep Doug Whaley as GM (which a lot of people thought he should have been gone) Ok fine... Then it's reported that Whaley wants a new QB, and Mcdermott wants to keep Taylor... AND ownership ends up siding with the coach over the GM? How do you keep a GM and then not even listen to him? This is just baffling... winning teams don't operate like this. When you are an owner that wants to meddle you want a weak GM. And then the coach can play GM too like last year when we spent three picks on in inside linebacker to save Rex's defense. You are right, this team is a mess and this news is confirmation that we are in for a tough couple of years. Whaley is really not the GM. It seems like it's a voting system with the Pegulas, McDermott, Brandon and Whaley on player personnel. Perhaps, just maybe, they were all in consensus? That A. Tony Romo is being released, not traded and therefore not an option for BUF. That B. Tyrod is probably a better option than any FA available , and could be restructured to a more cap friendly deal. C. That a QB will be drafted as a future replacement as Tyrods deal is year to year after 2018. Nothing to see here, but believe what you want. Where I come from the GM has the final say and then coaches decide who they put on the field. Yes, I forgot to add the marketing department and Brandon. The owners feel more powerful in this setup as everyone has to come to them. But this setup guarantees football decisions are not being made correctly.
