Bills reportedly interested in Kamar Aiken; signing w/Colts

what yolo said, you cant have superstars at every position. Also what was the point of signing zb and lorax last year, both low key signings that seemed to work out for us

I'm not sure what you mean here. But if you mean we just go dumpster diving every year and get lucky like we did last year signing players to one year contracts, you are highly delusional. We absolutely got lucky last year. I could name dozens of FA players we brought in on the cheap and even not so cheap that never worked out for us (ever heard of a player called Percy Harvin or Derrick Dockery)

. The odds of getting that lucky two years in the row on FA dumpster diving is very low. You still take a chance, but that is no realistic strategy to build a winning team.

He played lights out in 2015. With Smith, Perriman, Pitta all back from injury and Mike Wallace being decent again, he could barely see the field.

Would love this move for a reasonable price. He's a good one.

6'2" 75 catches for 944 yards in 2015 , would sign him if cap space allows

Seems like Aiken had been in the league much longer. Seems like he would be 30 years old atleast. Aiken is a decent player in his prime. If we can get him for cheap then I am all for it. Maybe a mild upgrade over Woods at a cheaper price.

Does anyone remember when the bills inadvertently listed Aiken as the No 2 WR on the depth chart during training camp? It led to a 5-page thread on here, until they revealed it to be a mistake. Who knew that he would actually end up being a starter somewhere?

i was not here then, but I can picture that board meltdown perfectly. 5 pages seems tame!

He had a strong preseason with Buffalo a few years ago and missed out on the roster in final cuts I believe. He went to New England for a cup of coffee but didn't do too much. Became a solid role player with the Ravens but he's really a JAG, he's a cheaper, slightly less talented version of Bob Woods. Not an inspiring signing if it happens.

I don't like it either..........but I would understand the interest.

Whaley and company love them some Bob Woods.....that's my disconnect with them.

Knowing that they'd like to see more Woods.......Aiken checks a few boxes.

He's about the same quality player as Bob, he's probably cheaper than Bob, he knows Dennison's system and he's familiar with Buffalo/Bils organization so he shouldn't have any of the typical "first year" issues with a free agent pickup adapting to a new system and home.

Kamar's (as is Brian Quick) on my short list of possible affordable options that could replace Robert Woods. As Aiken showed when he got playing time that he can produce in 2015 yet in 2016 he got pushed down the depth chart and as a result his numbers took a hit. Yet think he has the size and skillset to be a complement to Watkins in a WCO type offense.

Yes, I believe Kamar Aiken was a training camp and preseason star in 2011 who was on the team but hardly played.

You are thinking of Curtis Aiken........he went to HS in Pittsford but didn't go to Bills camp there. Rochester had 2 McDonalds All American first teamers in his senior year.......that city used to ball!
