BringBackOrton Posted October 11, 2016 Share Posted October 11, 2016 Outside of Russell Wilson, who does get his team into the playoffs and SB, there hasn't been a QB like Tyrod. I'd like him to be a better passer than he has been, too. I think he's missed far too many passes he needs to hit. I also think that a lot of people here don't give enough weight to the things he does that make him unable to be compared to other bad stat QBs. Last year we were close to the bottom inpassing yards but he was the 9th rated passer because he doesn't turn the ball over. If we had the Bills offense led by Taylor of last year and this year's or 2014's defense, we are in the playoffs. TT is unable to carry Wilson's jock as a QB, unfortunately. We were close to the bottom last year in passing yards but this year, we are at the bottom. And last year we missed the postseason, TT's gaudy (and clearly inflated) stats notwithstanding. I'm still confused why people would have a problem with a high pick at QB. I think it's stupid to overdraft a crappy QB just because we want one. He'd be helped a lot by having a bigger WR corps.........he's not a small window passer and the third down throws to Goodwin have been a recipe for a punt........but this year he's missing all kinds of throws he made last year. Any of Tyrod's throwing deficiencies almost exclusively begin and end with his own right arm. Robert Woods and his crew can't throw the damned ball to themselves! Beyond stats, the most concerning thing is Tyrod's inaccuracy with short and medium length routes. He's off target more often than the average starting QB, certainly more often than elite QBs. mannc Posted October 11, 2016 Share Posted October 11, 2016 It seems to me that this team could sneak into the playoffs, even with Tyrod playing at his current "game manager" level (see 2015 Houston, Minnesota), but they are likely to be one-and-done if they do make it. The Bills do not have the type of dominant defense that can propel them to Super Bowl without any real semblance of a professional passing attack. It will be interesting to see what the team does with Tyrod's contract if he continues to play at this level. Even though he might be overpaid in 2017 and beyond, they don't seem to have any other good options. They clearly aren't going to turn the reins over to Cardale or EJ and they won't draft high enough to land a blue chip QB in the draft (assuming there are any). His running game is really clicking these last 3 games and he has literally TWO receiving options. That's it. PLUS, in the last 3 weeks we only trailed the Rams when they scored on the opening drive. We got a TD on our first drive so out of 180 minutes we have had the lead or tied for 175 minutes. Get used to ground and pound when we have leads.
