So Goodwin is probably not a roster lock at this point? Man... he really could have been a good player.

If they keep six, which they probably will, only five will dress each game I would imagine. They could keep him inactive for a few weeks. It depends on the severity. Sammy played with a fractured rib for a few games. If he's out a month they will probably keep him. If he's out two months they will IR him. That's a tough injury to play with as a Wr.

I feel bad for Goodwin. He busts his ass, never complains, and is one of the most gracious players on the squad. And I think Roman would have found a way to use him in explosive ways. Tough break. And I don't know if we will have the luxury of keeping him active while he recovers.

I really hate the way Goodwin got hurt. He had actually given himself up on the play and that huge lineman just dove into his midsection when a "tap out" is all that was required. I looked at the play in live action and felt as though an unnecessary roughness flag could have been thrown. Terrible luck for Marquise. I agree they will keep him one way or another.

its usually about a 6 week injury. I know there is IR with designation to return but I think you can only use that once per season, correct? I was thinking that might be used for McKelvin. And then there is PUP and not sure how that factors into the 53.

I actually thought he did try to go down on the play and just got hurt in a freakish way when the Steeler pounced on him and the ball was drilled into his ribs.

Still, he can't get hurt this much.

D-lineman knew exactly what he was doing.

@mikerodak: Sounds like Marcus Thigpen (lower back) left game as precaution and is fine. Ranks 5th in NFL in punt rtrn yards this preseason. Has a shot.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. He can be a big difference maker, certainly more valuable than a kickoff specialist...

Pup is for guys that weren't active from the get go

As ktd notes, if we keep 6 only 5 would be active anyway, likely. So the top 3, Easley and 1 other. If that's hogan or DT for a few weeks, that's fine

I disagree, at least in terms of their respective builds. Goodwin is thicker with a frame that could probably at another 10 lbs. without hurting his speed and quickness. Roscoe was plain skinny with a smaller skeletal build.

Both had bad luck with injuries, so they are similar in that regard.

GO BILLS!!!
