The GOP Nomination--The Donald and So Much More!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, democrats are terrified of Trump. The only ones worried about Trump are in the GOP. The democrats pray Trump actually wins the nomination (not that Trump actually wants the nomination).

You're about as sharp as a spoon.

Trump could damage the Dems in one very specific and effective way. Probably about 80% of Americans are not tuned into politics. The Dems can get away with scandal after scandal after scandal because Americans generally don't know and don't care. The GOP are being stupid picking fights with Trump. They should be using him as a club to pound the MSM by him telling America every day how bad Obama and Hillary are at their jobs. Instead of the Dems totally fake "Hope and Change" slogan, the GOP can actually win this election by having Trump brain stamping a "tuned out" America that Hillary is a big fat loser before the general election season really begins. However, all that ground work goes out the door if Biden comes in late and is the candidate. Trump will probably not be around by then. He certainly isn't going to win the GOP nomination.

The blunt way Trump talks is very easy for Americans to digest and understand. I would think that is kind of a scary notion for the Dems and the MSM. They don't understand that Americans are "Game of Thrones" blood thirsty for non-politicians and non-political speeches. IMO Americans by and large don't like anybody out there now. They think politicians are basically all the same in that both Dem and GOP just want to protect the DC bubble and don't really care about people who have no special interest lobbyists fighting for them. My take on Trump is that he can possibly effect the narrative in a critical mass way that sets whoever the real GOP candidate on a real winning path. We shall see. IMO, it's been very entertaining watching the Trump show while it's still on the air.

For those of you wondering how Trump is keeping it alive, here is one perfect example.

Go to http://thehill.com/ right at this posting. The lead story is about the budget, and directly below that story are EIGHT individual stories about Trump.

EIGHT.

  1. Trump: RNC officials are being 'really nice’
  2. Poll: Despite McCain comments, Trump atop GOP field
  3. Trump's most notable insults
  4. Paul: Trump getting 'a billion dollars of free advertising'
  5. Perry digs in against Trump
  6. Graham: Trump 'appealing to the dark side' of politics
  7. Sunday show wrap-up: Trump dominates
  8. Clinton, Trump, Cruz make biggest splashes on Facebook

Can you imagine if they paid that much attention to Hillary's email server?

Not nearly as !@#$ed as we'll be if it comes down to Bush vs. Clinton.

You're a nut if you think Trump or Sanders would be better at the helm than Clinton or Bush.

2016 political dream team

Trump: Secretary of Homeland Security (ruthless enough to deport a baby)

Cruz: Treasury secretary (can balance the budget)

Sanders: Secretary of Education (speaks their language)

Hilary: head of IRS (knows where/how people hide money)

Bush: Secretary of State (He can annoy other countries for a change)

Obama: US Ambassador to Kenya (send him home)

Presdent: Jon Stewart (He can distract the population while his cabinet works)

President: Jon Stewart (He can distract the population while his cabinet works)

Why, it would almost be an Obama 3rd term...

The host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Jon Stewart secretly met with PresidentBarack Obama at the White House on at least two occasions, which were followed with on-air attacks on Obama’s political enemies.

Politico’s Darren Samuelsohn wrote his paper’s farewell to Stewart, who is set to retire from The Daily Show next Thursday. He notes that Stewart had an enormous effect on national politics, but sometimes “that effect took the form of either prodding, or working in concert with, the Obama administration.”

John Stewart is funny as hell but make no mistake, he is for Liberals as what Fox is for Republicans, a cheerleader for the party and causes he supports.

Except Fox pretends to be a news channel while Stewart unabashedly remains a comedian hosting a comedy program.

Actually, Stewart also pretends to just be a comedian, however he knows that many of his viewers get their "news" from him. He's not an idiot and he understands that he shapes his viewers opinion much the same way that Fox does theirs.

I think it's worse, because the news portion of Fox is fairly balanced. The Fox on air personalities are decidedly partisan. Stewart OTOH cleverly masks his program as comedy, yet it's a partisan political program which many people take as real news delivered as comedy.

He's not pretending to be a comedian, he IS a comedian with a show on COMEDY CENTRAL. He's never been a journalist and has never pretended to be anything more than a comedian.

Except for last summer when he pretended to be a director.

I didn't say he was pretending to be a comedian, just that he's pretending to ONLY be a comedian. If you don't believe that he also tries to influence opinions and outcomes, then we really can't go too much further here with this conversation.

Jon Stewart slipped unnoticed into the White House in the midst of the October 2011 budget fight, summoned to an Oval Office coffee with President Barack Obama that he jokingly told his escort felt like being called into the principal’s office.

In February 2014, Obama again requested Stewart make the trip from Manhattan to the White House, this time for a mid-morning visit hours before the president would go before television cameras to warn Russia that “there will be costs” if it made any further military intervention in Ukraine.

To engage privately with the president in his inner sanctum at two sensitive moments — previously unreported meetings that are listed in the White House visitor logs and confirmed to POLITICO by three former Obama aides — speaks volumes about Stewart and his reach, which goes well beyond the million or so viewers who tune into The Daily Show on most weeknights.

I suppose he met up with the president at the Oval office for some comedic tips.

Both Fox News and Stewart state that they are non-partisan, though. From that standpoint, they are both dishonest.

The level of Stewart's influence says more about the state of corporate media in our country than it does about Stewart using his program as an activist platform. He's a comedian who runs a comedy show. Its niche is to mock the declining state of journalism and the ****-show known as American politics. That doesn't make him profound, it makes him smart.

Stewart has never, ever, claimed to be impartial. He's a comedian and a liberal and says both whenever he's given the opportunity.
