Captain Hindsight
So everyone knew AN ENTIRE SEASON'S WORTH OF SNOW WOULD FALL IN ONE DAY! There is simply no "preparing" for this kind of event. You can only hope to mitigate it as much as possible. GO BILLS!!! Yup^ But don't worry he's rolling instead of offering to go out there an help emergency crews work through this.
MyHorseAteTheKid
Is Mike Vick allowed over the border as a convicted felon? It's all good as long as it isn't a DUI Arrest!!! or a firearm crime...
Not at the table Karlos
Unless you live on a main road, its not at all surprising that 3 feet fell before the plows showed up. I'm sure they were working on the main roads so that emergency crews could have a chance to move around before making sure you could get to the store to buy beer I actually live on a main road. I swear you people are among the dumbest I have ever encountered. Sit and make assumptions about what is going on in the real world and make excuses when you are proven to be an idiot or just flat out wrong. Did you see pictures online so now your an expert on what is going on. I should go walk to the store and get some beer. Oh wait I forgot they are all closed because the roads aren't clear... anyway enough with that crap. Is there anyone stuck in this that needs to be dug out. A few of my neighbors and I are coming around to help out. We're heading towards Lancaster in a few. Edited November 19, 2014 by kr632

Matt in KC
If only they had salted the roads, they'd be passable by now! I don't doubt some things could have been done better. But, if the Bills game starts at RWS on time, it will be a near-miracle, and the stuff of legends. I'd love to see pics or 2,000 Bills fans showing up to help dig out the team. I have been all day. What are you doing? Come help us. We can use anyone we can. Thanks for the lecture.I wish we could all be that smart no prob. Lol. Lost my cool. It's aggravating reading comments when people try to demean anyone that doesn't agree with what they think. I say start plowing when it starts snowing they say oh noes it was too much to handle. I say yeah it is too much to handle when you let it get to 3 feet before you do something about it. They come back with another excuse. I seem to stoop down to their level a lot here. Esp after a loss. Smh
Captain Hindsight
I have been all day. What are you doing? Come help us. We can use anyone we can. I'd actually love to but I have class today and I doubt you want me to miss it. My research focus is on how to make a more stable beer while using less energy. Based on my calculations it should be able to purchase a few snowplows with the savings
Very wide right
You summed these complaining jerks up nicely. I have lived in the south, New England, and the northwest. Most of the cities in this country is paralyzed by the mere threat of a trace of snow. 6 inches over night shuts down Richmond Virginia and Portland Oregon for a week, and boston and NY for a day or two. Buffalo? we may have a delay, but those roads are clear by 9am. 5 flipping feet, stranded cars every where, and these A-holes are complaining that the dudes risking their life so they can go buy a pack of smokes at NOCO, arent doing a good enough job. You were nice, my retort is a bit more crass. EEEEEFFFFFFFFFFFF YOU, BUDDY!!! Pack of smokes? Really ?get a clue.Heres an angle you probably didn't think of.How about the citizen in serious medical distress. The West Seneca plows where I live were sent out VERY late and over half of them were stuck. This is plain and simple incompetence on the highway superintendants part.Of course nobody will be held accountable because nobody ever is in local government. So keep your crass reply. You may want to think things out before you post next time. OK, how many leaf vacuums do they have? How many men do they have working? How many piles are there? Are you willing to pony up for more equipment and men? I think you are a classic case of 'likes to complain guy.' RECORD SNOW FALL!!! IN BUFFALO!!!!!! Get it? And this is exactly why we have substandard service because guys like this accept it.Right now the town of Tonawanda has heavy equipment in West Seneca clearing the roads. You are either a union municipal worker or someone that has been taken advantage of all your life. todd
When did snow become such a big problem for buffalo? Whoever is in charge of the plowing and salting of the streets here needs to be fired. Everybody knew this was coming and the mayor was on tv bragging how ready they were last week and now everyone looks stupid. Really? 4 feet of snow? Almost a full year of snow in one day? Are you kidding me? I don't care who you are, nobody is prepared for that. They set a snow record for the entire country.
Very wide right
Surely there must be an indoor dogfighting arena in the Buffalo area where they can play this game. Mike Vick can likely put in a good word for the NFL. And they surely have roads and restaurants that Marcell Dareus can crash into then go smoke a bowl of synthetic weed.Goes both ways buddy.Personally I'd rather forgive than torment. Again I can see you don't live here. Monday afternoon a lot of roads were covered in sheets of ice before the storm even got here. When there is ice on the roads you put salt down. In buffalo a lot of the plows also carry salt. If they were out salting the roads because they were icy they would have been out when the snow started falling and could have taken care of a few feet before they got ridiculously behind like they are now. RealityCheck
Mother Nature is a b****. It's times like these that define the true limits of your tax dollars at work. I pray that people will be good neighbors in the weeks ahead. Communities will really have to be active to maintain safety.

PromoTheRobot
Yeah, just on Toronto radio. How ridiculous when they can just move the time of the game from Sunday to Monday, if need be. Any of the problems on why they'd delay the game are not resolved by moving it to Toronto. The snow would be in check from Friday on. Right now it is just getting the players in for practice. Dumb. Dumb radio station. Not as dumb as the "Radio Voice of the Buffalo Bills" trying to look for ways to blame the Bills for this. Government is the chief problem here. These municipalities should just hire private contractors for snow removal and there would be no problem. There will never be one instance when a government entity out performs a private firm.I am critical of West seneca right now because of the late start. They have not even picked up the piles of leaves on the curb since mid October. Just call Stash and his plow truck, huh? Edited November 19, 2014 by PromoTheRobot

PromoTheRobot
it's happened before in my lifetime. Wasn't as bad because they stayed on top of it. The last time there was a storm like this the plows were out the day before salting and out in full force the second it started snowing. They would get behind because there was no way to keep up with it but they kept at it and nothing got out of hand like it is now. We had 3 feet on my street before we saw a plow yesterday afternoon. It's embarrassing How dare they plow someone else's street before yours? The nerve.
PolishDave
If people are going to be pissed at anyone for not doing their job, then get pissed at the weathermen around here. I don't recall hearing any of the news casters predicting that parts of WNY were going to get 5-6 feet of snow. I heard that max that any area would get was going to be up to 24" and that was for the traditional snowbelt area. They done frigged up on this prediction. Plus the news is so sensationalized around here and the meteorologists cry wolf so many times every year that it is no wonder the town highway departments didn't take them seriously.
