We can now wear jeans. However, we can't wear sneakers. So if I wear casual shoes what looks weirder:

White socks with casual shoes

or

Colored socks with jeans?

Wear boots. Problem solved.

(White socks with shoes looks weirder.)

Buy black sneakers, ones that unless someone looks closely, they won't notice it's not a shoe...

I concur.

I cannot wear jeans w/o sneakers. It's just wrong, and it undermines the comfort of casual attire.

I don't know where to begin with this statement. What is your definition of "sneaker"?

I never use the word because it sounds silly to me, but if I were to refer to a shoe as a sneaker it would be an athletic shoe. Nike, adidas, reebok, etc. As far as comfort goes, I've logged miles in various pairs of Clarks, Doc Martens back in the day, and other slightly dressier shoes which I always wear with jeans. I really only wear "sneakers" at the gym.
