  1. I'm a fan of rescue. Sweetest dog I ever had was a pitty.
  2. I'm in. With about 30 of my tailgate friends and Pinto Kenny.
  3. Is anyone trying to sell 2 club seats on the Bills side for the Lions game? I'm not doing so well out in the cold this season.
  4. Bills Dad says his car was parked next to the girls porta potties. The sign was left learning up against the car. I know that many TBD folks park right near there. Hope someone saw something or knows who might have been parked next to Bills Dad on Sunday.
  5. 1 for Aussiew tomorrow. Cannot find the thread where I'm supposed to reserve. Sorry.
  6. Why would a person spend all that to live with an ocean view and then have all those trees blocking the view? Very rich people are a little strange IMHO.
  7. So sorry, can't seem to find the post. Is there one? Is it still at Nicks? Or somewhere else. Waited years to get back to WNY and attend this.
  8. Do any fellow historians know how and when National Anthems even started? Every country has a flag and a national anthem and almost every one of he anthems is about war/fighting (except Canada). Most countries do not play their anthems before sporting events. I never heard it growing up in Australia. What I don't understand is why so many people go on and on about a few athletes exercising their rights as citizens, but why is only required to stand if you're actually at your seat? lots of folks are still getting food, going potty etc., and they don't stand still and take their hat off. And in addition, when did the hat thingy start? I never saw that until about early 90s. The military don't remove their hats, or put their hand over their heart during the anthem. I'm so bloody confused now.
  9. Well, I don't see a list. But just confirming again...Aussiew...1 general....arriving at 3pm.
  10. Four of my friends are coming up from Dallas and Odessa, TX.
  11. Since the home opener is on a Thursday when will the garbage plate meet up at Nick's be held? Now, I can drive to it. So excited.
  12. I record everything. So glad to be retired now and can watch as much as I want. My faves are swimming, diving, gymnastics, horse jumping, rowing, Track & Field and the medal rounds of everything except boxing and weight lifting. But today I paid attention to women's rugby...HOLY COW! these girls wear no padding and they play like athletes. And many of you would understand why I yell for the Aussies when they are competing. So proud of my homeland that they do so well with a population of only about 25 million.
  13. Since I now happily live in WNY - I will be happy to bring food to contribute. Mead already RSVPd for Cowgirl fan and me. Val from Dallas is also now attending.
  14. Hi all. Checking in again. Got unloaded yesterday and am in the house. My dreams of living in an old house with lots of character have been a little marred by the fact that: 1. Cant get the Queen or Double box springs up the stairs. They have to be cut. Got to find someone who know how to do it. 2. Cant get my headboard up the stairs. Have to hire some laborers with tall extension ladders to take it in through the 2nd story window. 3. The opening from the finished basement to the laundry area is only 24 inches wide. Can't figure out how the sellers removed their washer and dryer and cant get mine in. Gotta find someone who knows how to cut a larger doorway and then repair it. 4. Constantly going up and down 2 flights of stairs is killing me. But the "pro" is the good excercise. 5. Adjusting to no fences. One of my dogs ran out and visited the neighborhood yesterday. He now knows more of the neighbors than I do. A fence is the 1st thing on the priority list. They used to have a website to "hire a husband" for a day or two. Can't find it any more. So this morning I sit here, surrounded by boxes (and box springs) and wonder how I will overcome these latest challenges. Vodka maybe? But at least the Bills looked good and I got to see Aaron Williams in a commercial....#oldladycrush. So glad Cowgirls Fan was here long enough to at least help me get most of my kitchen stuff unpacked. I got to make coffee this AM.
  15. 2 general please. One for me and one for my son Matt (and Kaitlin) closer to Kenny. Officially a WNY resident again!!!!!!!!
  16. Just took a break in my house "packing" to log in again. Wow, thanks for all the entertaining comments. Yes, the Dallas area is okay (if you like Cowboys fans and Jerry Jones), but I've always missed the north. Actually, since leaving Australia, I have lived in So. California, Grand Island (Buffalo), Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and Dallas. The only two places I have ever been homesick for were Sydney and Buffalo. So glad to be coming "home" where the summers are manageable, I don't have to run a sprinkler system, my house isn't the same floor plan as my neighbor, the lakes are "natural" lakes, I can go camping again, no more y'all and "fixin to" and other assorted really bad grammar, and I can drive rather than fly to Bills games. I will be out of here on August 22.
